Amen to that 😂 I genuinely wanted to like that movie and felt like the only one actually rooting for it when it was announced, but man it just didn't work
Of course it was true I tink they also bght out the book but I would not say it's a, great horror she done up fake like a, waxed dummy vampire in real life she gt shot frm the waist down naked fr a magazine
It sounds like you and I had a similar childhood. I was ten when it came out. My older brothers and sisters saw it and talk about it to this day. I wanted to see it so bad that I read everything I could get my hands on. My dad finally let me watch it when I was in eighth grade on HBO. I knew so much about it that it didn't scare me. Then I saw it at the midnight movies when I was a senior in high school. It was on a large screen with all the special effects. I didn't sleep once I came home. I watch it every year around Halloween.
I'm glad I'm not the only one with that experience 😂 I think I was around the eighth grade when my parents finally let me see it on TV, I'm sure it was at least close to that time. I actually just saw it in the theater for the first time a few months ago and it was a whole different experience for me too, felt like seeing it for the first time again! There was so much I hadn't picked up on previously until seeing it on the big screen, definitely a memorable experience!
I agree that none of the Exorcist movies can match the original .... there are some people who say that Exorcist 3 is just as good as the first one and I find it laughably ludicrous, the first movie was a contender for Best Picture Oscars and the best horror movie of all time, but Exorcist 3 is just flatly not on that calibre at all .... its insulting to even compare 3 to 1, so much cheesy acting and directing in 3, its scary to some but the quality of just not there compared to the heavy weight tone of the first movie...
You're not wrong, I feel the same way about 3. I don't hate it, and out of all the sequels I believe it's the best one, but in my opinion it's just so different in tone and quality, which makes it difficult for me to compare it to the first movie. As its own film, it's fine, but I don't love it as a continuation of the Exorcist story
They also ended up casting Stacy Keach as Karras but something happened where Friedkin saw Miller in a play and went with him but they had to pay Keach his entire salary for the film since he was still under contract
I remember reading about that, it's wild how many people they went through before they got to the final cast! It's fun to think about how the alternative performances might've looked, but either way, I'm so glad we got what we got in the end
I'm glad they never added that spider walk. It's cheesy. it takes away from Ellen's performance and the stunt double looks nothing like Linda. They did shoot a version where they did use Linda where she shot her tongue in and out and then chased after Sharon. That was much creepier. I did like the additional scenes with Karras and Merrin and the end with Dyer and Kinderman
I agree that the alternate take you mentioned was creepier to some degree, but I've gotten used to the spider walk scene the way it is. That being said, it does feel out of place and a bit unnecessary. I think I really need to watch the theatrical cut more to have a concrete opinion tbh, it feels so different even though it's just a few scenes taken out
I think the one big thing that pulls me out is that is doesn't look anything like Linda possessed or normal and she doesn't have any possession make up on her@@DeadNoiseBlog
@@darkhoffman8739 the possession wasn't in full effect by that point in the movie, so that's probably why they thought they could get away with a stunt double but idk. Either way, I can definitely agree that the movie can do without that scene altogether and be totally fine
@@iamchosen5888 I said the creepy scenes are more effective because they don't have music because it gives it more of a real feeling, the exorcism at the end for example. Tubular Bells is used perfectly the two times it's actually heard in the movie, so I have no problems there 🤷🏻♂️ even the unused score cues are great, however I still feel that it's better that they got scrapped from the final film
The abomination that was "The Believer" just makes this movie even better

Someone needs to file a restraining order against Green to keep him away from successful horror movies. @@DeadNoiseBlog

The Exorcist is the greatest horror movie about a true possession that will never be another like it. ❤

It’s funny cgi can’t compete with practical effects one of my favorite scary movies ever

When I heard Sydow was going to be in Ep VII I was like “wait how is he still alive? He was so old in exorcist!” 🤣
🤣 I think what's crazier is the fact that when he actually did get older in life, he looked IDENTICAL to his Exorcist makeup 💀🤯😂
Esta película devoró verdaderamente ❤️
My favourite
Mine too!
Barbie outsold, The Exorcist? 😂 People have grown to be so dumb.
😂 I couldn't believe it either, but alas, this is where we are

The Exorcist is a nuclear blast. The Exorcist III is a mere skyrocket in comparison.
@@stephenbastasch7893 that's one way to put it 😂 never thought of it like that

What? You dont like Tubular Bells? You're not a true fan of this movie, NEXT!
When did I say that?
@@DeadNoiseBlog didn't you say you didn't need the music at some point in the video? If not, my apologies.
