This is what people don’t really think about. When we elect officials we think things will change right away, but the support staff does not change. The frame of mind a department remains the same, the problem people are likely still there, and at best, nothing will get done, unless the support staff agrees to, and has the abilities to get behind the elected official. The politician can flap their jaws all they want, but it is the unelected doing the work. If they don’t like the idea, its not going to get done.
They were giving detailed reports of all the savings they were getting by eliminating the kickback corruption on other channels. It's an all-alarm crisis for every pocket-lining politician across the country that in little Chestermere, honesty and accountability are breaking out. But, Ric, the brother in law of the ex-mayor, has it covered. Business as usual can rest easy, apparently.
Yes, it is eye opening the waste and corruption. I believe Jeff and the guys, sure they are not perfect, not as wrong as the previous suspect mayor and manager.
