I have a Model C that I got from my mother as she used it when she was a kid. I picked up a Model B, but I cannot remember where I got it from. Might have been from a relative. It is cool and smaller than the Model C.
I have been given a Model C just like my sister and I had back in the 60’s. A nice piece of history! Unfortunately it does not index well both stiff and sometimes does not rotate disk fully. Yes I could drill out the rivets but this would be a shame. Anyone know how to fix this indexing without a full disassembly - am I am fairly good with tools?
The Model C is what got me into View-Master because it looked like a torture device from the quack medicine era but turned out to view some very excellent colourful 3-D images! On closer examination, it's quite art deco and makes me want to chase down Al Capone in a 1920's black & chrome buick.
Hi Seann. I just got a Viewmaster Sawyer Junior Projector with a broken light bulb. I found out that it is hard to get and very expensive. Are there alternatives? What kind of bajonet fitting is it? Can you disassemble the viewer and change the fitting to something more common? Maybe a tip for a new video.....
The big drawback to the D, dust between the two lens sets. Unless you want to screw-up the whole viewer, have it cleaned by a pro, like Dr-T. I have 2 Ds and 4 Fs.
Yeah, it was tricky, but I was able to get it open, cleaned up AND put back together correctly. I was lucky though in that I ran across a broken D that I was able to practice on.

I just ordered one on eBay. Can’t wait to use it with my peanuts reels. Awesome channel.

Just picked up a model D, same one with the V top. Is there anyway to open it for cleaning? Seems to have dust on the inside of the lenses.

It's bakelite, before plastic as we know it
