Sorokin was a Vezina finalist, but has an off year the next season (the first in his career in the NHL & KHL) and he needs to be traded? Who comes up with this stuff & can I have your dealer's contact info?
Sorokin is going thru what Shesterkin went thru. They have a down year or 2 as plays figure them out and theses goalies start to adjust to the NHL game. There's no way the Isles move him, especially for Marner. 77 points and an even bigger contract. It just doesn't make sense. It would take NHL ready prospects and top picks to get him.
Trading him is a bad move especially with Markstrom , (maybe) Saros, & likely Ullmark on the market. If you need a good goalie there are plenty of options. Plus his contact is longgggg

No, trade lee and a pick (absorb $1-$2 million if you have to), pageau if you have to, a trade for ehlers would be cool and Shane pinto is another player I’d love for them to target but doesn’t get brought up and he’s a born and raised islander fan growing up, but even free agency they’d have some space to sign guys like debrusk, maybe bring back Beauviller on a cheap one year prove it deal he can slide with Nelson and palmeri. Regardless they need 2 top 6 wingers this offseason one on the first and second line, bottom 6 were set. Possibly an upgrade over Riley for LHD.
The Isles should have dumped Lamoriello. Sorokin will be difficult to trade because of his contract. Lamoriello is going to have a difficult time trading most of his players because of their contracts. The truth be told; He better draft well and realize this is going to be a process which will take a long time. He will be smart to look for a real coach and dump Roy. He should have tried to hire Berube, Maybe another quality coach may be available. However, don't be surprised when the Isles and Flyers get off to bad starts and Lamoriello hires Tortorella after the Flyers dump him. Tortorella would be an improvement but he ie=sn't going to be much better than Roy

The Isles lost more games than they won in the regular season and were eliminated in 5 games in the first round. TRANSLATION ... the Isles had a bad season! They haven't had a winning record in any of the last 3 seasons. It's time to begin a major rebuild!

Lamoriello made big mistakes overpaying many players to fat, long term, no trade contracts.
