Yeah, that's basically the trade off: you get it a lot cheaper when all is said and done, but you'll need to spend time and energy collecting building materials and having your people exercise their engineering skill on it to fix it up. (It can take some time because usually shops stock 3-4 building materials a day, and some houses can require about 30+.)
Tip: When buying and selling, you'll see a *Buyback* modifier on the items you've bought or sold. It means you can buy or sell back your items for the same price you bought or sold them. I believe that modifier goes away when you close the trade window however, but at least you can fix a mistake if you catch it.
The circle button in the upper-right corner of your inventory holds the inventory screen open regardless of which character is selected. In other words, you can open two characters' inventories at the same time and trade between them over somewhat long distances. Also plastic surgeons will restore your hair. Shinobi Thief towers always have free plastic surgeons.
Hey Rycon, advice for this video: You can 'rebuild' broken ruins that you buy. Even if the roof's falling down, you can buy them, then use engineering skill and building materials to rebuild the damaged town ruins. It's not much but it might save you some money.
Campfires actually don't require someone to work them. Just place meat inside and it is cooked automatically. Hobbs was just standing around doing nothing the whole time, except placing more meat into the fire so he didn't level cooking at all. You can really speed this process up by building several campfires.
I know I'm late, but super glad to finally see you take the sneaky chain off you main stealth guy. The sneaky part is definitely a misnomer, it's sneaky because the chain is hidden. But it utterly tanks you stealth skill.
I’d just like to say, thank you for your stellar content Rycon. I just had a serious house fire and your Kenshi RP vids are keeping me from thinking about all the stuff I lost. You’re a legend man, thanks!
She can also be in other Shek territories. Many uniques have randomized spawns within specified areas. Green for example can spawn in Shark and Mud Town. Izumi can spawn in pretty much every UC city.
Try to ensure all of your characters have some form of First Aid on them. You never know which character will be the last man standing and make their escape, if you can heal up quickly before returning to start carrying your downed party members to safely if may save your playthrough in the future!
A warning about city life: if a character's job requires materials that are sitting on a shelf in another building, they may autonomously go and grab it. I got banned from the bar in the hub, and my cook was killed because he stole some meat while I was exploring with another character.
... and you thought only NPC wouldnt give a shit about you in Kenshi lol... Happens to everyone xD *Thou shalt not enable crafting job chains while in urban environment* 🙏🏻
Can it really happen? :\ I've watched a lot of Kenshi 1.0 videos, still following 3 other Kenshi series on YT, beside this, and I never seen NPC's would do what you described. Pretty sure they are programmed to not pick up "red items" automatically.
@@Magemaster55 Unfortunately, it can and does. Most youtubers I've seen tend to not fo a lot of automatic jobs until they've set up their own base, where it's not a problem.
@@Magemaster55 no this does not happen and if it does it very (VERY) rare. ive got well over 120+ hours on this game, watched all of Aviticus Dragon's series (like 4 or 5 seperate ones), all of MathasGames' current series, most of Tobel Plays' series, all of CohhCarnage's series, all of Nookrium's series, as well as watching Rycon, and i have not ever once seen that happen. also recommend all those series if you like kenshi series..
Haven't had that happen with my workers the one time I set up in a town, but I have had a bone dog steal meat from a bar rather than taking the food from my backpack. Chained to my whole party fighting the city guards.
Just started the video, but wow you sounded like a clone trooper in the beginning! I thought i was listening to a 2006 battlefront 2 campaign narrarted prologue. You really sounded like the guy who voices the clones in star wars.
great episode! love the gleeful poignancy of sand and park splurging on cool clothes for themselves when, after the run-in with the slavers didn't result in a desperate brawl to defend their freedom, they're able to appreciate for the first time that others are treating them with the same mercurial antipathy every freeman enjoys. excited to see what they make of it. i also wonder if it wouldn't make sense for park to just carry puppy dogmeat around whereever they go, since, of course, park understands one never really knows how long one will have with their children.
The reason the dustboss kept walking out is because he didn't have a bounty. You can check if someone has a bounty just by left clicking on them. It'll show in the lower left corner, just above their stats. If they don't have a bounty, dragging them to a police station does nothing.
Whenever one of your characters is running somewhere and you don't know what are they doing, you can look in the bottom left between state and encumbrance there is "goal"
Good tip buy ruined house. Then go to ruins / ruin settle ments find building supplies and use them to fix the house. Then stock pile them. Then build a reserch bench and research level 2 first then research the basic stuff. Once you done that your ready to build a base. imo, I would dbl check the Samurai cloth pants and think about it being an early game light armor contender. Its protection coverage, also gives a 50% coverage to the stomach, along with the 100% leg coverage. You can't build anything inside city/town boundaries. However you can use ruined building inside city/town to make a camp inside it. I think, you could build a campfire, place a sleeping bag and maybe even build a tent.
I know that, and I think, by now Rycon knows that too, from all those, similar to your, comments. I just wanted to point out for him, that he doesn't need to own a property in the city or pay for beds in the bar, to camp for the night in the safety of city walls.
Checkout the 'Path to Valhalla' mod if you get a chance Rycon it adds green grass, clumps of trees and forests everywhere. It looks so amazing and is like being in the world of kenshi before the wars. It looks so good I had to keep pausing to calm down every now and then lol.

Moving backpack into character's inventory is not always benefical. If character doesn't have enough strength for the weight of backpack and all the stuff inside it, that will drastically affect his combat/running speed, reloading time(for crossbows), and ability to dodge or block attacks.
