The 2nd shirt looks amazing ❤❤. Love those colours together. The pattern of the 1st shirt is great. The colours are not my thing, but thnxx for the inspiration Angie 🤜🏻
The first one looks like an optical illusion. The design on the second reminds me of a snake. I love the second design. The wavy line is just more visually appealing. I just love your experiments. That's all I usually do. I love the experimenting. Regardless of outcome.
Thank you! 😀 The first shirt does look like an optical illusion, and the second one does have a snake look to it. I agree, experimenting is so much fun! I am very unapologetically curious.
I love both of those shirts. The designs and colors are so cool. The second shirt reminds me of a fossil imprint of a ancient fern. Have you experimented to see how little of the dye you can use and still get good coverage? Thank you for the wonderful video!
Thank you! I think these turned out pretty cool too, and a fossilized fern is a great description for the second shirt. No, I haven't experimented with using small amounts of dye. I probably should though since I tend to be heavy-handed when I apply the dye. 😀
They are both really nice…. I love the ice cube top too. Dollar store here I come! The colors are fantastic and the combination is 3/4 of the design. Sometimes it’s hard to know what combinations of colors work best. I guess it’s trial and error for the most part?
Thank you so much! 😊 I think choosing colors is important too. It makes it a little easier if you have a little bit of knowledge of color theory. Since it is ice dye though, there are usually surprises with color splits and the way the colors flow.
I really love them both, maybe the first one more because of the colors. The color splits are amazing! I like both folds equally. Thanks so much for all your great experiments!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you! Yes, I'm so glad you found those containers. I looked at some sort of small bread loaf containers, but they just weren't the right size. I was so excited when I saw your video. They make keeping the ice on inclines so much easier, thank you for sharing! 😀
I have been wanting to try a rolled design for a bit but found a lot of them really overwhelming for some reason. These two have awesome results and look manageable!!! Thanks for the inspo and making me feel like I can do it🎉
I think it's a fun design with endless possibilities depending on where you begin your roll. I have another couple videos coming soon of a few more rolled shirts. Those look totally different than these two. 😀
The second shirt reminds me of a centipede. But I love it. The colors are amazing. I like the first shirt a lot the way it looks like it’s flowing like curtains breeze .
Annette mentioned a centipede too, and it does look like that! A curtain flowing in the breeze is a great description for the first one too. I didn't know exactly how to describe it, but that is a perfect description. 😀
I love them both! I gravitate to diagonal designs, too. The horizontal design is great, though. I think it also has a vertical element from the way the dye flowed. Both are really nice. I'm taking a mental stress day today and doing what makes me happy. Thanks for the inspiration to try something new. 😊
I agree with one of the other commentators that the second shirt is more like camo. The first shirt pattern is really good. I’ve never seen that one before. Both are very cool to me. 👍🏻👍🏻
Does your “processing time” include the time it takes for the ice to melt? Or does the ice melt, then you start the clock for 24-48 hours? I love your videos
No the processing time doesn't include the ice melt time. I start the clock after the ice is fully melted. If it is really warm where you have your shirts processing, you don't have to wait as long to rinse. However, if it is cooler than 70 degrees Fahrenheit where you're processing, you may need to wait longer than 24 hours.
You have some great ideas!! I especially like your diagonal tied shirt. The design reminds me of ferns and the forest floor. I am curious: Do you get better color splits from dye under the ice or over? It would be a great side-by-side experiment to tie two shirts the same way, use the same colors and have the only variable being one dye under and the other over the ice. I'm also curious Does the ice shape make a difference? Keep playing! I'm taking notes. :) Thank you!!
Thank you! 😊 I haven't experimented with the ice shape, but some tie dyers claim that it makes a big difference on their designs. That's an experiment that I guess I need to do. I have done several experiments showing the difference between dye over the ice and under the ice. Here's a link to one of them: th-cam.com/video/vnwpMnmovRU/w-d-xo.html I also have experiments showing the difference between muck and rack dyed items too.
So awesome!! You have the coolest ideas and your tutorials help me sooooo much!! I do have kind of a dumb question though.... For your inclines, once the ice melts and you put them in your container with the rack to process, are your racks on an incline in your tote, or are they laying flat? I was just wondering if laying them flat, would stop the dye flow, or would it have already flowed down as much as it's going to, and it wouldn't mess it up to lay it flat to process? Thank you so much for everything you share and teach us!! I appreciate you!!!!
Thank you so much! That's not a dumb question at all. I leave the shirt at an incline while the ice melts. Then I normally end up adding a second layer of ice to the shirt and allowing that to melt as well. So, by the time the second layer of ice has melted, the shirt has been at an incline for at least 12 hours. By then, the dye has already flowed down the shirt and it won't hurt it to lay it flat to process. 😀
@@FunEndeavors Wow!! You are amazing at responding so quickly!!! Thank you so very much for all you do to help all your viewers!!! It speaks volumes to your character and your genuine soul!!!!
Have you ever tried a "double inclined" like either dyeing the blank in a V shape both ends elevated towards the center.. or maybe a 2 step process dyeing only doing top half letting in flow half way... Then flip and repeat with a contrasting color.. sry if I my explanation leaves a lot to be desired.. not the best with words🤷
I like both shirts. I like the color combination in both also. The second shirt is a fern.
Very nice Angie
Thank you! Yes, the shape does look like a fern. 😀
I love the second shirt - it looks like a fossil in the stone to me & agree diagonal is more flattering.
Thank you! I agree, it does look like a fossil. 😀
Gorgeous color combinations! I like the colors in the first shirt, better but the wavy design works better in second shirt.
Thank you so much! 😊

I need to do this type of tie. I didn't realize that medieval brown had so much green in it! I can't wait for dyespin to open again.
Yes, it's a really pretty color. It shouldn't be too much longer until they open. Hopefully, the new expansion will make ordering a little easier.
I really love the outcome of both of these, but the second one has kind of a glowing effect to it. Thanks for sharing Angie.❤️😁✌️
Thanks so much! 😊
I like both but the second shirt is my fave!
Thank you! 😀 So far, that one seems to be the favorite one.

Thank you so much! 😊
Im loving the diagonal one. I think i might try that for my dads birthday shirt this year
Thank you! That's great, I hope he loves it! 😀
I like them both, but the wavy diagonal line is the best to me. It looks like either tire tracks or a giant centipede.
Thank you! 😀 Oooh...it does look like a giant centipede!
AWESOME ❤ So glad that you found the ice cube idea helpful also 😊.

I like the second shirt much better than the first one, more organic looking.
It does have a very organic feel to it. 😀
The first one reminds me a lot of those magic eye books
I didn't see it until you mentioned it, but it kind of does. 😀

No, not with incline ice dyeing. I did do a couple of wick shirts though. Kind of the opposite of the incline.
2nd design reminds of a centipede, but the colors also resemble marigolds
That's a great description for it! 😀
Second shirt reminds me of crocodile/alligator/lizard scales/skin. Specific, right?
It does have that vibe. I was thinking dinosaur, but someone else mentioned a caterpillar and another suggested a fern.😀
Fern fronds!
