- In this installment of RECOILtv, we ride the lightning on an absurdly small package. The Micro Uzi is perfectly named, and packs a spray of lethality in the most compact of packages. This bullet hose comes from a storied line as far back as the late 1940s. With the ability to use a foldable stock, the Micro Uzi can be tamed quite a bit, but how does it fare in the palm of your hand? Tag along with RECOIL's Dave Merrill, and Vertx's Dave Rhoden as they try and tame this little beast and do their best reenactment of Chuck Norris wielding his favorite Invasion USA gun.

@@chrismanmadrid Up is relative to the reciprocating mass which in this case would translate with the orientation of the firearm.
The gun is only going upward because of the force from the powder charge and exit of the bullet. It goes up either way because the only thing changing is the angle of the grip. You could turn a gun upside down it wouldn't shoot downward.
chrismanmadrid actually it would go downwards. the recoil is directly parallel to the trajectory of the bullet and it's directly towards you. the only reason it goes up is because the grip is below the chamber, so it acts like a fulcrum rotating the gun upwards. so if you did hold your gun upside down, the recoil would push the muzzle downwards.
Well the gravity conjunction theory wouldn't allow that to happen due to complications in the trigger mechanism. The danvalt trigger problem I believe they called it. Plus without a vice or something like that you couldn't physically hold it upside down unless you are contorting your body. The grip would also be equal upside down so it would actually shoot quite far upward I'm not surprised people on TH-cam can't understand this simple science.

Watching this video because of the story about the 9 year old who accidentally shot and killed her instructor with an Uzi. Wow! After watching this video and how the recoil tends to go full rainbow, I now realize that little girl could have shot herself! Her parents are lucky. My heart goes out to the instructor and his family.

What I want to do is make a hole in the front of the micro Uzi then take a solid steel forearm grip about a pound maybe a pound and a half screw it in that would help a lot with the recoil
Could you hold it hand over fist, with supporting hand on the mag, to brace against the full rainbow momentum? Or would that cause a jam???

My dream is to convert a micro uzi to a grease gun RPM. There's gotta be a way to add more mass and make a heavier bolt. That seems to be the easiest way to go. I'm sure there are other ways too.
There is. Look into the Parker-Hale PDW from about 20 or 25 years ago.

Just a FYI Years ago in Massachusetts, a Father and a Gun Range let a 8 Year old Boy fire a Micro Uzi, he ended up shooting himself in the Head and Dying, when he could not control the recoil, I know, what were they thinking, it was at a Gun Show.

And when I started playing MW I noticed the uzi firing at a slow rate. Because I'm used to this micro uzi which fires extremely fast I was so confused XD
I first saw the micro uzi in the movie Colors.
Smaller the Uzi, higher the rate of fire goes. Its because each the bolt travel doesn't have to go as far on the full size Uzi. So naturally the smaller it is the less space there is for the bolt to travel, it makes it faster to cycle. Atleast from what I know. This is also why the Heckler & Koch MP5K has a higher rate of fire as opposed to the full size MP5 or MP5SD.

I guess they never thought about putting in a retarder since the bolt travel is getting shorter/ cyclic rate increased as it got smaller.

There was a kid over here in Iowa who went to a gun show with his dad a few years ago. The gun seller let the dad shoot the uzi and then the dad asked the kid if he wanted to try it. Fuckin thing spun right around on his finger and killed him.

A little girl accidentally killed a range instructor in AZ or Nevada when the recoil sent the uzi upwards towards his face when he was showing her how to use it.

The recoil on the micro Uzi, I suppose, gets better with practice. I can't help but wonder If It's true at some stage that the secret service working In the field with the president used them for their stopping power, I thought (NO WAY.)
