To be specific God Hand came out after RE4 and Mikmai said in an interview that he made God Hand with full creative freedom because he made Capcom so much money with RE4 that he did not feel guilty for creating a game that would clearly not be profitable but it was the game he wanted to make.
This is the Misshapen Chair timeline where everything is a stepping stone towards the creation of Nekopara.
Then Capcom went and shut down Clover Studios specifically because of this game anyway :(

The only games we will remember is the failures of Watch Dogs, No Man's Sky, Cyberpunk, and any videos posted on Crowbcat's channel.

Jesus, my "kick me sign" run of this game is straight up one of the hardest things I've ever done in a video game.

FromSoft games are like Stardew Valley compared to God Hand. The first Azel fight kick my ass HARD. That was quite the difficulty spike.

I remember getting god hand and not understanding it at all. I didn't really like it. For whatever reason, I picked it up again a few years later and got HOOKED. That was maybe 10 years ago but I still think about it often.

Ive been Stanning for this game for so many fucking years. This was one of the first experiences I ever had where I couldnt just do the thing and I had to delay gratification by practicing to overcome hardship because my dad was more absent than a male Au Ra's mental around any female.
I'd love to see the outrage a remaster that only improves things like controls and what not but doesn't remove any of the offensive stuff. Sadly it will never happen but I can dream.

my first question when someone praises a 3d beat em up is: "does it plays like god hand? how close to it is it?".
To me this one is the peak of brawler action, it will never get better than this and we will never have another game like it, right now humor is dead and "accessibility" is what sells, and no big game is done without corpo crap getting in the way, a hard game with a humor and gameplay that gives no fucks about feelings, and a lot of gameplay customization...yeah, this is the one and only.

I tend to not think of God Hand as a really difficult game, largely because I was able to beat it, without resorting to cheating or exploits. (Or emulator conveniences, I bought God Hand at release and played it on a real PS2.) Despite some really ugly spots, that puts it in an "easier" category for me than something like NES Castlevania or even something like Viewtiful Joe. Yes, I say Viewtiful Joe is more difficult than God Hand, as I couldn't bring myself to beat VJ without using a cheat device to work around the garbage move unlock system and the later overlong boss fights where bosses have health bars that are about four times longer than is even reasonably fun.
