For those who aren't Argentinians, one of the reasons Ruiz was so altered and incredibly furius towards the goat, is because here in Argentina, we often say that when a person has been cheated by their partners, they are horned (as in having horns). this is a common taunt and a very offensive insult you can say to a person regarded that topic. So, the goat being the representation of the infidelity of his wife (this is implied and pretty much confirmed by the shot of Ruiz with horns over his head when he approaches the goat) forces him in a burst of rage.
The dog scene was a double whammy because not only is it shocking in the moment, but it gives you a false soft landing where the girl appears fine. Makes you think 'oh this movie isn't going to actually hurt the children'. HAHAHAHAHA yeah.

this movie truly had some horrific and interesting stuff. i really loved it. the rules of the world are so different, and so unique even though the MX was profoundly dumb the lie was really interesting. the exist part was when Jair is eating the pudding and a bit of grandma comes out, he has that far off stare of Jairs but for a short second he takes a look at dadalmost unable to contain his laughter because of the Horror and surprise Pedro is feeling. like he wanted to keep up the shtick but he just had to get a peek. That was incredible to me.

This movie couldn't be more split between awesome and infuriating. On one side, the movie is pretty cool as a horror movie. Tense atmosphere, creepy gore, well-placed scares. Easy 9 out of 10 on the horror scale. World building is also unique and has room to grow. But on the other side, the movie gets bogged down by every character holding the idiot ball constantly. Like it would be okay if just Pedro was an idiot, but literally everyone not named Mirta always makes the worst possible decisions, often mere minutes after being told what the right decision would be.
i belive that's the catch of the movie, imperfect people being people in an imposible situation, you don't know if you were in that situation you don't mess it up, not everybody can be Ash Williams, to me that's the pretty of the movie
Honestly, this whole situation could have been easily resolved if the main characters had reached out to TRUE professionals, who would somehow still arrive in a black '67 Chevy Impala. Because nobody's quite so proficient at stifling the plans of Hell itself like our boys, Sam and Dean.

This is perhaps the only horror movie that actually messed with me. Sure the effects were bad but it actually protrayed the horrendous consequences of what a murderous demon entity would do if it actually existed
Everything about the movie’s atmosphere is creepy and amazing. However the plot is very silly at times and the writing is inconsistent with the world they build.
If only Pedro accepted that there was no way the evil wouldn't kill Santino. Jimmy could go alongside Mirta and Pedro, it would one more level headed person that could calm down Pedro while also serving as muscle for moving the rotten and protecting Mirta during the cleaning.
Y’all seem to be missing the point that there isn’t any backup here. The authorities don’t care, you aren’t getting another expert easily. It’s the middle of nowhere in a poor rural area.
They even mention that calling "Health agents"(salubridad in spanish,as mentioned by the police agent)about the rotten would mark the town as a ghost town and no one would actually go there. It's interesting because even the government has a branch for this. It's like posessions being taken in a pandemic context.
That's the thing about this movie, you can't beat the evil. It will hunt you and force you to break the rules, you can't outsmart it or find the clever loophole, it isn't a ghost or a demon, it's evil itself.
Being honest those are the most down to earth "protagonists" in a movie like this, in real world would probably go down like this. Those are not the heroes, this is not a hero or a survival movie, those are the guys that get bitten by a slow zombie first and spread the sickeness to the whole town. They are your average dumb human, just think of how many people die every year because they did the dumb thing and not the rational one, it happens literally everywhere.

Problem with this movie. Exrocist guy that was called at start show up at middle of night, no vehicle and alone, he didn't even informed any of his friends about it. Everything about the movie’s atmosphere is creepy and amazing. However the plot is very silly at times and the writing is inconsistent with the world they build.
If only Pedro accepted that there was no way the evil wouldn't kill Santino. Jimmy could go alongside Mirta and Pedro, it would one more level headed person that could calm down Pedro while also serving as muscle for moving the rotten and protecting Mirta during the cleaning.
My guess as to why he didn't ask any questions is the writers were too lazy to come up with any answers that actually make sense 🙄

Y’all seem to be missing the point that there isn’t any backup here. The authorities don’t care, you aren’t getting another expert easily. It’s the middle of nowhere in a poor rural area.

They even mention that calling "Health agents"(salubridad in spanish,as mentioned by the police agent)about the rotten would mark the town as a ghost town and no one would actually go there.

That's the thing about this movie, you can't beat the evil. It will hunt you and force you to break the rules, you can't outsmart it or find the clever loophole, it isn't a ghost or a demon, it's evil itself.

Seems like they had to make people intentionally stupid to even make the plot work.
Being honest those are the most down to earth "protagonists" in a movie like this, in real world would probably go down like this. Those are not the heroes, this is not a hero or a survival movie, those are the guys that get bitten by a slow zombie first and spread the sickeness to the whole town. They are your average dumb human, just think of how many people die every year because they did the dumb thing and not the rational one, it happens literally everywhere.

Problem with this movie.
Exrocist guy that was called at start show up at middle of night, no vehicle and alone, he didn't even informed any of his friends about it.
MC brother even after knowing an expert didn't choose to call her.
MC not listening to expert, his whole family also died early cause he didn't throw away the clothes.
That one guy who didn't control his anger and killed the Goat.
