More Shows! I made my last batch with 1 cup evaporated milk, 1 cup sugar, and I screwed up and used 1/2 cup vinegar. The result was a sweet and sour sauce I could stand. Nice on donairs, but I liked it on peach cobbler. (Leave out the garlic).

got any tips for vienna weiners? cuz i do. okay have your weiners ready, all heated up in some water say and then yis take a half cup a yellow, could be french's could be heinz don't matter but got to be yellow - mustard. and a half cup - could be strawberry could be raspberry, could be kraft could be noname, don't matter - but it's got to be jam - so take a half cup a jam and a half cup a yellow mustard. mix them up and heat in a small pot or could be microwave, don't matter, but yis got to heat it up until it bubbles, and voila you got a vienna wiener dip. so simple and elegant but people never guess what's in it.

To see it it looks exactly like a Gyros. However the meat tastes entirely different and it uses this sauce instead of Tzatziki. They can be had anywhere in NS and some places in NB but thats about it. People consider it Lebanese food but it really isnt. But a Lebanese guy in Halifax name of Dash made them popular decades ago so thats probably why. His recipe can be looked up online and if you follow it exactly you will get a mighty fine example of what its supposed to taste like on a first attempt.

One thing you wont be able to do at home is have the machine. The meat turns on a vertical spit and you use a real sharp knife to slice off thin pieces as its ready. But the recipe will have the exact right flavour. I used it myself for some Toronto friends.
And since I am smoking a little and typing out loud as the dinner hour approaches, Miss K is saying donairs are sounding quite appealing so I think I am seeing myself out in the rain going to Belly Busters. Too bad you're not here. They are about the best in town. And donair isnt particularly expensive. Without going over 10-12 bucks you can get one that a husky boy couldnt finish.
