I’ve got the DV18DEX (hammer drill version) and it’s got me into the line. I think the new generation of Hikoki/Metabo HPT tools are hugely underrated. The ergonomics, tech and compact size is very impressive and it has all the power I need.

I couldn't agree with you more. Being a tradesman on site with other workers I don't know/trust, it's nice to be on a platform others rarely have. I don't have to worry as much about batteries or tools being stolen and being indistinguishable once thrown into their collections.

The ergonomics are HUGE for me, all the major brands are more than enough powerful more than enough speed I don't need the fastest of everything the older I get. It's about what tool is the most comfortable that I can use for the longest without being in any kind of physical pain at the end of the day.

@@ProToolsApproved amen to this. You tube reviews tend to announce the winner as always being the most powerful tool in its class. The reality is it has to have enough power for what you need it for. The Metabo HPT/Hikoki tools feel as if they’ve been custom made for my hand and that changes the user experience. The ergonomics are on a different level. You add the compact size and tech features such as RFC as well as top built quality and I can’t understand how they aren’t selling more than they do.

Couldn't agree with you more. When you're comfortable and the tools don't cause fatigue or pain you're that much more productive. Honestly, being priced similar to Dewalt, Makita, Milwaukee, people not in the know just won't spend the money on a brand they're not familiar with or don't see others using. I myself passed by the isle at Lowes for years, when they dropped for clearance years ago I picked up a few and was blown away. Even then I didn't understand their 'multi volt' system and adaptor, because they didn't explain or market it well at all. I've since worked with them on a few projects that will be seen soon, mostly marketing explaining their multi volt system to attract new customers and hopefull take some away from team red/yellow/teal.

I got it for beta testing several months ago, I haven't seen anything about a US release, all searches come up with the DS18DEX. maybe have to import it as the hikoki if you could cross ref the model numbers. .

does the new hammer drill take the 18v batteries too?

Yes. The hammer is an 18v tool. It'll use the standard 18v batteries or the multi volt batteries.

That metabo DV18DC is same as hikoki DV36DC so which one is coping each other

They are the same. Literally. In the US they're marketed as Metabo HPT(formally Hitachi), they're called Hikoki in the rest of the world.

BUT they may physically be the same, however they run different voltages as told by their model number. 18v/36v

There is a DV36DC also. It is sold in USA in both 18 and 36 volt. 1220 vs 1400 inch pounds

Yup. The newest model. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Upped their game with torque and rpm, def belong in the same sandbox with the big boys.

Those are two different drills not just in name. Metabo HPT sells both of those model numbers in the US market.
