La mejor versión de esta aria que he escuchado en mi vida, ¡qué potencia, qué coloraturas, qué fiato, qué agudos, qué graves, qué tesitura, inmejorable!

Having done TH-cam auditions of "Una voce poco fa", I find Jennifer's the most pleasing performance of all. I absolutely love her voice and the emotional and artistic energy of her rendition. Great playing by the South Korean Orchestra too!

I would hardly say that Ms. Larmore wreaked havoc on her voice. She's past 50 now and still sings Rossini better than most anyone out there. Rossini is DIFFICULT to sing, and most singers can't handle it after a certain age; some never. You need to keep the instrument in good shape. We all have a certain color to our voices, and it can sound different from piece to piece. I, for one, absolutely love the timbre of Ms. Larmore's voice, and she has long been one of my favorite singers.

I don't think it's wrong for people to disagree on how a singer sounds. People just hear things differently. Sometimes you really enjoy something, sometimes you don't. Classical singing is really subjective. Just because you are a fan of a particular singer (I am an admire of Larmore) doesn't mean you have to absolutely relish everything they do. Sometimes, Callas and Horne drive me nuts. Other times, they are sublime.

OK! so what, a vowel was back every now and then, such things never really worry me, but one has to admit, this is a very special and rare kind of mezzo-voice. I wll give still give her an A-plus for the sheer excitement she brings to singing this music. She is definitely unique.

As always, Larmore is completely on fire and sprinting towards the oxygen tanks! I adore it! For those critical of her interpretation, I will say, as a composer, that I may have a set idea of what I want in a piece, but often singers find things MUCH more insightful and interesting over the course of a pieces performance life. Let the aria be what it is meant to be.. fire and bravura!

what does she think "Rosina" is???? why is she "shouting" & "crying" ???? I think there is some misunderstanding, in terms of language & culture, as well as techniques?? the way she deliver "...ma"!! wow. simply hysterical. Rossini phrases should never be "attacked" like this, though majority of audience in Korea might not know the difference between Rossini and broadway musicals!

I'm surprised by the criticism of her vocal style. Rosina is a young girl, and she is a bit on the hysterical side. I liked this interpretation. I think her voice is lovely and beautifully produced. She sings on the voice and her vocal line is perfect. For me the bottoms are a tad dark and a bit bottled sounding, but I'd love to hear her live, first, before making an assumption that this is always how her voice sounds. And frankly, at 50, she's singing Rossini much better than most.

Yeah, she is working hard. The orchestra is too big. Look, I really like Jennifer Larmore, the recording used for the Una voce poco fa competition is really much better, and I love it. No,Rosina isn't meek at this point, but there still should be more dynamic variation. I don't agree, a mezzo can sound just as youthful as a soprano, it has nothing to do with the timbre.

@CatalinaDM56 Sadly, overdarkening of her voice has wrecked havoc on her voice. There's a reason one doesn't hear such dark sounding mezzos (or other voice types) anymore...our science of the voice and vocal pedagogy has progressed far enough to show us such voice types are exceedingly rare and most people (like Ms. Larmore) who do use such voices do it with false darkening and the resulting pressure leads to eventual vocal collapse. Just look at Maria Callas.

I get a little distracted with her facial expressions and body twitches. She has a tendency to close to a dipthong in final vowels. The whole aria seemed really bombastic. The high notes were strong, and the low emphatic, but she looked like she was working very hard and her breathing was very high. I was uncomfortable watching her. I like a more youthful sound for Rosina and Larmore sounded "old". It's not a mezzo vs soprano thing, I really prefer a mezzo on this aria.
