    Hobbiton is beautiful and looks like y'all had a great day. I would love to go here even if it is more touristy.

      Yes! Us too! We thought we’d have to wait at least 2 hours for the next available one and to get on the very first one was incredible 😍😊

    Best tour I have seen so far so well done. Although I live in Wellington and have friends, including Richard Taylor, who worked on the movies, I have never been to any of the film locations. I have however been to Weta Workshops and visited and worked at Park Road Post in one of the sound mixing studios.

    Only times I've been to Matamata, it was more than a decade before Hobbiton was built. It's also up the other end of the country from me. Perhaps one day.

      It's called a "tourist trap now a days". I love Putararu area or Cambridge than Mata Mata.

    Reading the title -HOBBITON:best Tour Ever (we had it top ourselves!!) I almost fell off of my chair because my husband was born close to Mata Mata and since that Hobbiton opened, every day load of buses full of tourist coming to that place. Now I understand it's click bait. That place I called it as a "tourist trap".

    Funny story I got kicked out of Hobbiton when I was 14, I was with my parents visiting the area and I really wanted to go, so I decided to sneak in after closing hours the security guard who was Maori was actually really nice escorted me out and gave a stern warning. It was Crackup.

    We were in Wellington for the opening night of The Two Towers (I think) and have first day edition stamps and a one ring collectors coin. I would post a photo of Hobbiton in MataMata between the filming of LOTR and The Hobbit when I visited and it was just wooden shells, but TH-cam doesn't let us post photos. So that's nice.

    • @HappyHoppe
      @HappyHoppe  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh wow, that’s awesome you got to visit it then! Did it look a lot different then??

    • @simonburford9306
      @simonburford9306 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Happy Hoppe Well the scenery is the same and the tree was there, but the farmer had been told that the set had to be removed for copyright reasons so all the hobbit holes were wooden fronts with holes cut in them and no painting. Later, after The Hobbit, I imagine the farmer came to some sort of profit sharing agreement to leave the set up for tourists.

    • @jackmorgan1677
      @jackmorgan1677 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@simonburford9306 I read that the original set in the beginning was a bit of a mess and not fit to show to tourists. There was apparently a bit of an outcry in NZ about all that amateur hour stuff going on. They must have worked on it to get it to this quality level. Investing big money in it was a no brainer really, considering how much money they now make from it. I guess the potential revenues really focused the minds...

    I'm so confused...are you still traveling the world? I just watched a fertility detox and it didn't seem like you were traveling anymore. Number the travel videos would be helpful and placing them all in one playlist. It would be easier to keep track of where you on in your tour.

    • @HappyHoppe
      @HappyHoppe  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I can see how it’s easy to get confused with our videos 😂
      Here’s our world travel playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLPHEqKWkXSm3CElx3oy5xdgYcrd8Wdqnf.html
      In our description for the travel vlogs is the date listed of filming and also the day #
      Our 1 year world trip was 2017-2018 and I am still in the process of editing a video for every single day of that (70+ days of lost footage didn’t help as we spent 5 months trying to recover it and then retell the lost episodes with Peters pictures)
      I also have wanted to share our current journey, hence the fertility videos published sometimes on Saturday:)
      Thanks for keeping up with our adventures- old and new 🥳 🌍 💕

      Yeah, Linus, me too. When you build a park like that why not go the whole way and build interiors behind those hobbit doors. Dig up a hill, put in a lounge room, kitchen and bedroom, and cover it up with soil and grass. And why not employ dressed up extras for a few days a week...
