  • The ventricles are demonstrated and named on a model cast as well as in rotating 3D reconstructions. The production, function, circulation and removal of CSF produced by the choroid plexus is discussed using a diagram and then reviewed on frontal, axial and sagittal brain specimens and corresponding MRI’s. The blood CSF and brain barriers are mentioned along with the cisterns.

It is indeed a very well explained and detailed lecture. Unfortunately, not up to date with scientific research. There are true lymphatic vessels in the brain. Also, the CSF is now considered to play major role in the glymphatic system. I would love to see an up to date version of this lecture as I have great respect for Dr Stensaas and she is clearly an exceptionally good tutor. Thank you.

That's a very high quality explanation, much better than a lecture with a few slides I think. Thanks. I'm assuming the brains consented to be examined so :)

My daughter just completed the installation of VP Shunt. Watching this gave me better understanding of the brain and her shunt. I'm from a technical background, but this explanation is easy to understand. Thanks a lot!

I too have a VP Shunt. I had a tumour called a Pineal Germinoma. Long story short, I have to take medicine for the rest of my life and my hormone system is totally out of wack. My endocrine doctor told me that I have to visit him to get a hormone injection if I want to have kids. All of this and I'm still 19. (TヘT) On the other hand, I'm grateful that I'm still here.

The intricate and descriptive teaching is very helpful. The use of different models was great too! You were also popping in some important information which helps relating to the content. :)
There is just one addition I would have loved, is that the relations of the lateral ventricle in different coronal sections. The shapes the lateral ventricle manifests in different horns.
