Very good video thanks. The fade up from the bottom was GRRRRRrrrrrr. People in the west read from top to bottom and no fade would be perfect, however still a great video thanks, much appreciated.
cesarjr14 Perfect. Didn't have a single issue. This video is very clear on instruction and I got it done fast. Later I did it for a friend and was able to do it in about 35 minutes.
ivan I bought mine on ebay...but honestly I dont think i would do it again....one of the little metals part broke and not by my being excessive in force it just did...headache...next time im being the whole kit..more money but saves you time.
@@richardprettyman1285 its got so annoying now with shit camera work, blink and yool miss it ,narration disappearing from the bottom up wtf that i cant concentrate on it so just came straight down to the comments to see if i was the only one that has been left more frustrated . . fuck i dont even have a Z3 , i have an m3 -awh i am going to bed zzzzz
Really helpful video, did my passenger side window on the Z4 yesterday, ended up with the air bag warning light on though after I had to reconnect battery to get window clamp bolt aligned with hole. Any ideas how to reset? OBD2 not doing the trick.
i disagree...fussed around with trying to get the new cable on the reel next to the motor for hours...too tight, too loose...it was like trying to put ten springs in a box and close the lid. in the end i ended up breaking some of the cable strands making the whole thing unusable.
I am using this video to replace the driver side regulator of my 03 Z4. The problem I am having is that I cannot remove the back part of the assembly due to the threaded bolt looking end facing towards the ground that seats on a raiser slotted platform of the door. One can see it when watching this video at the 6:18 time mark (pause the video) after he lays the assembly down on the ground and this threaded end is on the upper right side if the of the back assembly almost pointing to the 1 o'clock direction. It seems that it is held down by a nut but I could not find a way to check it out even to insert a toll. Anybody has some feedback? Thanks.
not worth it, you can buy a new regulator much cheer than having to go through this, plus you are running a higher chance of this cable going losing again..

Great video. I am doing this to the passenger side of my 2003 Z4 E85 tomorrow.
Glad I now know what to expect.
+KillTheFear How did yours go?

Had to buy a 10mm metal drill bit I'm still working on it 7 hours later.
Great video got myself a replacement cable kit and had it all working again within two hours. I used a rivet gun tho instead of nuts and bolts.
I've done two cars using this video - both successful. Wish he narrated instead of those fade in and out banners. Cables are $15-20 on ebay.
The fading is making me want to find another video but I really need to fix my window
A whole regulator fir my vehicle us 30

I gave it a "like", but super frustrating video - next time skip the black fade.
Cool rebuild but the entire windowmechanism including new cables and rollers is 130 euro, seems a bit easier/foolproof than just renewing the cables
Do you know why the cable got tangled up in the first place? I’d hate to replace the cable and then have the same issue again.
Has anyone experienced any issues with the bolts securing the pulley casing becoming loose due to vibration? Did you use nyloc nuts?
where did you buy that black part? mine broke so i dont know how to replace it
where exactly can one purchase the cable? I can't seem to find it anywhere
Steven Gutierrez @ Amazon
thnx for this video did mine yeterday passenger side work fine and save $$$$
where can i order just the cable for a gmc?
Nice diy writeup, thx!

Good job
And very bad experience
thanx ,great vid
just about to attempt this...

Window regulator is cheaper than wasting all this time and work
Definitely I would not recommend it
Useless work
If you have the money go spend it, dickhead....
Absolutely false regulators are at least 100$. Nothing in the 40$ range.
