- Metal Slug 5 - All Bosses (No Damage). "Metal Slug 5" is a run and gun video game for the Neo-Geo console/arcade platform created by SNK Playmore. For all those who don't know, according to a very acceptable theory, the origin of the final boss, Scyther, or Evil Spirit Incarnate, or however you wanna call it, happens at 3:19. The native who put the mask on transformed into Scyther after receiving the mask's powers. Also, that native was supposed to be Ptolemaios himself.

I thought the final boss is just death. It's pretty obvious with the scythe and skull in its center.

This was literally one of the best Metal Slug games for me. Very unique boss designs
I personaly love the desing of Shooting Ray
Despite the game being unfinished, the game was still fun to play and the soundtrack was fantastic. Especially the final boss fight. I know all final boss fights have the classic ost, but this got amped up and it felt epic as fuck when fighting that mystical creature.

I really like Metal Slug 5, but the troubled production behind it and the amount of content that got cut bothers me - to this day, I can't help but be a little down that this game could've been even more.
The whole shift to evil spirits and cults might seem a little too different for MS, but lemme tell ya, that final boss fight? Top notch presentation. Love it.

To me, if MS5 has the production team and the time as well as money like MS3, it could’ve easily thrown MS3 as the best MS game ever.
I think you're looking for Metal Slug 5 Elite. Google that.
@@dylanvasquez3849 Elite's problem is that the gameplay additions aren't very good. The game is made to be badass but by people who aren't very good at game design.
Take the updated Metal Rear boss. You have to keep jumping to avoid the water waves when Metal Rear lands which is annoying, and the water waves with the other attacks mean there's too much going on on the screen.
What about the flame machine gun? That's certainly not very creative, is it?
For Metal slug games with good game design, I prefer Super Blinky's fangames. A bit on the less creative side, but solid game play.
Wow, that first boss fight's theme is really metal.
Metal Slug 5's soundtrack on the whole got a lot more metal, really. I _especially_ love 5's version of the Final Attack theme.
Fierce Battle for me is such a badass classic you just can't go wrong with it

It's a darn shame that one of my favorite Metal Slug games has a lot, and I mean A LOT, of unused content. That Stone Turtle ain't a boss (though it is in Metal Slug Defense & Attack and if you look REAL closely during the driving sequence of Mission 5 you can see it in the background among the chaotic city), Ptolemaios (that tribe guy who got struck by lightning after Mission 1) isn't seen, and we have next to ZERO idea where the Evil Spirit Incarnate (the Final Boss) came from!
You can tell this game was kinda unfinished and I wish it had it's original content so we have a more complete Metal Slug 5. I mean, we do have Metal Slug 5 Elite, a fan game that is attempting to make the game more complete, but it's a little hard to accept that game since it doesn't have the polish (and I suppose "feel") of an ordinary Metal Slug game. I'm definitely not bashing that fan game BTW, I am a follower of the development team's work since, ya know, it's an attempt to make Metal Slug 5 complete, but I think they need to polish out the animations and possibly the engine (I think they're going with a V3 but I haven't heard from MS5E in about a year).
Still, the lost treasure of this fifth game in the MS franchise is inspiring for me~! I just might make my own Run 'n Gun game in spirit of games like Mega Man, Contra and Metal Slug! :D

To think of the destruction that could be caused if the Ptolemaics and their Masked Superiors actually succeeded in mass-producing their own Super Vehicles. One Black Super Vehicle is pretty formidable, but an Army of them?
Kinda' makes me glad we have Marco and the gang to keep the world on Lock Down.

They didn't cuz the SV-001 Codename Black Hound (Or more like Nickname) was prone to sometimes going rogue. As it was self driven,a self working SV-001. This kinda made production to be adjusted to be more careful and slower.

Idk why but the final boss is awesome, i think that was what made me wanna watch Metal Slug content every single time. And even when i was little i wasnt even scared, idk how i wasnt scared of a cosmic reaper but wow.

El jefe final no iba a ser Scyther (el Devil Spirit Encarnate), sino Ptolemaios, un anciano aue lidera la Armada Ptolemaic bajo la sombra. ¿Pero que no apareció en Metal Slug 5? Porque los sprites de Ptolemaios eran difíciles de procesar en la máquina que estaban creando y desarrollando el juego, pero como el tiempo era cortor para acabar de terminarlo y lanzarlo al mercado, SNK tuvo que a Scyther en lugar de Ptolemaios, pero este último apareció oficialmente desde Metal Slug Attack, la continuación de Metal Slug Defense.

Se suponía que te ibas a enfrentar a Ptolemaios (el nativo que se pone la máscara al final de la primera misión) y cuando lo derrotas este invocaría a Scyther. Uno no iba a sustituir al otro, solo que Ptolemaios fue uno de los dos jefes eliminados durante el desarrollo del juego

AfricAryaN Hype use debug and go to sectret mission, you can see lots of things weren't used in the game. They rushed and cut so many things because of budget problems. This explains the plot hole (the cannibal who weared the mask after mission 1 never appeals again, but you can see the unused boss sprites of him in secret mission), some level design errors (no flameshot and big weapons that only appear in the final mission) and critical bugs (infinite score glitch in mission 1 and disappearing bridge in final mission).

glad a team made a remake last year for those 2 bosses and hidden tower before Gaia Elephant.
I got the entire collection on ps4 but I am sad because most of Metal Slugs console releases have about 0.5 to 1 full second of input delays. The arcade cabinets have instantentious reaction which is why on those I can go half of the game with 3 lifes while on the console barely a single level.
The enemy is copying our tank! What a bunch of copycats. They probably just installed a laser, and a rocket launcher and made it unmanned to make it look like they did not copy us.

The boss of Mission 4 is the most unfitting aspect of the game, even more than a demonic final boss. I mean, the whole level isla underwater and suddenly you're in some kind of desert, like what the heck?

I looked it up, like you said it was an autonomous machine but something, it's still not sure what, caused it to go berserk and it killed everything around it.
There seems to have been some sort of an attempt at a story in Metal Slug 5, but the game is notorious for having a darn near treasure trove of unused content, including what looks like 2 cut bosses. Perhaps the explanation of the Black Hound going berserk was one of the things that got the axe.
