Bought the canik mete sft months back to try out canik. It has replaced my glocks for a home defense pistol. Absolutely blown away by the value. And the mete has the ability to cowitness irons with the optic because it uses the smaller footprint so that’s a non issue. I trust my canik with my life. They are killing it over there at canik
Same here got the METE sft put a light on it and a holosun 407k and it's perfect. Thing chews through any ammo and makes me look like a better shot than I am. Loving the Caniks. The triggers are so nice with no mush.
@@GunPartsbyTeddy1911 make sure you get one with the RMRsc footprint. The regular RMR has a wider screw setting. So you want something like the holosun 407k or 507k. Or the sheildrmsc. Or the swampfox sentinel. Or even the canik optics which are called the MeCanik line optics. There's definitely no shortage of options when it comes to optics. 👍🏻
I’ve become a huge fan of Canik recently. Their guns are surprisingly well-made and accurate. I really cannot wait for Canik to release the Mete MC9. I am definitely buying it.
Had two Rivals before I got my steel frame. The steel frames added weight makes the gun feel softer to shoot. It has improved grip texture, Less muzzle flip and felt recoil. I Love it! I shoot uspsa with it. I am a Canik fanatik!
Honestly if you're skilled enough, even the middle of the pack Caniks (the Mete series) can get you placed well in competitions, given you train on reloads without the flared mag well. Not to mention if you place high or highest, people get extraordinarily surprised seeing the "budget gun" brand beat their Glocks and other race guns.
Canik's weakness is their support. They have to ship out lots of magazines. Encourage holster makers to make holstersnfornthem, and if that doesn't work, sell their own holsters.
If it came ported it would only be competition legal for a small number of divisions. Same with the magwell, depending on if you have it on or off determines what division you can shoot in.
I bout the canik mete sft a few months back myself and I can’t say best bang for your buck reasonable price and great accuracy probably one of my favorites at the moment been looking at getting the Anderson kiger 9c if you get your hands on the Anderson kiger 9c you should do a video on that one to they it’s all interchangeable with glock 19 parts if I ain’t mistaken. Canik, great gun the mete sft first canik I’ve bought but will probably end up with more caniks.. very pleased
Mines had an issue with it's recoil spring a little too much tension and had to keep it open for 24 hours which fixed the issue. It also didn't like being loaded using the slide stop and the slide needed to be pulled fully rearward which had no issues. Only my CZ Shadow Orange has a similar if not slightly better trigger than the Canik SFx Rival and I paid around $1500 the CZ Compared to $620 I paid for the Canik.
just picked one up recently and i agree about the sight not being able to co witness withthe red dot. also to me the break is a little stiff could be lighter but still crisp with a wonderful rest. i went to buy another tp9 elite sc or a mete mc9 and picked up this gun instead, so glad imade that choice!
Nice! Been interested in Canick for awhile now, still haven't bought one. Maybe soon. Probably not a competition pistol though, maybe a base model for home defense.
The Mete is good but the Rival has a better trigger. The trigger break is nice as our the reset. The trigger weight is lower than some of my other firearms so as always one needs to use good trigger discipline.
If it's better than the SFX I bought 2 years ago, you definitely want one. Never was a huge pistol fan. But I shoot my SFX maybe better than my AR. Sweet shooter.
To be honest, I've never liked a single S&W m&p I've ever shot. It seems like everyone I know owns one and they are all just meh. CZ, Canick, Shadow Systems, Sig all make better handguns for around the same price.
Awesome .. a simple and honest review base on your own experience... Well done . Let’s wait for experience with this and the steel version . Will the difference in price will justified ?? Let wait and to see this future video ... Stay tune !

I have a Holosun 507C Gr on mine and it is a tack driver if I can do my part. I have the most aggressive Talon Grips on mine and this gave more control and a more solid grip. The S solves the supposed need for porting to reduce recoil. It is not difficult to shoot this firearm to it's full capability if you are a strong powerful shooter. The green dot and grips take it to a whole other level. I don't know how much more you can improve on this, firearm with the S, but I will let you know when I have it !!
Hegs, great video. Just want you to know that with age one loses the ability to use the iron sights. I have Rival and Elite Combat for home defense. Holosun 507c's on both. I shot expert all 10 years of my US Army service, with the M16A1, using iron sights. All someone has to do is change the batteries. Batteries are cheap on Amazon. My speed and accuracy with the holosuns on these weapons are amazing. The Holosun EPS full size will work with the mounting plate with the integrated rear sight if you file off 2 of the nubbies on one of the ends. But I sent back the EPS. I didn't care for it. Hope this helps, thank you.
I'm a Sig & Smith guy for semi auto handguns, but after this video, I'm definitely starting to warm to Canik. They have a lot of features for their price point. How's their customer service & compatibility with previous/contemporary model magazines ?
I can confirm that the magazines from my Rival and Elite SC both work in my MC9. That magazine compatibility is a huge advantage over all the other mico 9's! Awesome little gun.
Thats a bold statement for this video. I take it you dont have a CZ TS2, or Tanfoglio Whitness Xtreme, or Stealth Arms Platypus. Those are on a different level and are actually solid metal framed
I love my Canik but I’ve shot a couple of those you mention and you have a fair point. Of course the Rival is about 1/3 their cost for 97% of their value, so there’s that.

I bet almost any full size guns would be better compare to most guns as they use have less then 5 inch barrels, lol. What I can’t get over is the split trigger ( I can even imagine to use this as a competition gun just because of this. Other then this, it is aggressive looking gun. Some people really go for the looks.
Canik literally sh*ts on any M&P. It's not even a conversation. That's why you don't see any videos of those 2. You see canik being compared to cz shadow and other pistols well over $1k.
If price isn’t a factor, would you pick this Canik or the M&P Competitor? I have a hard time buying a Turkish made gun imported by Century. Both Turkey and Century Arms have checkered pasts.

I wanna give them another shot because I know they are great guns but everyone says they sold all there glocks for caniks and idk if I could do that with that thought in the back of my mind
I don't know how people can shoot like that, I see SO many people pressing the trigger THE SECOND the reset happens. That just HAS to affect your aim, instead of just taking a second after reset, to get back to rest, THEN taking the shot.
Canik seems to be a decent value but it's slide is way too busy. I like the glock for its simplistic look. It has serrations where it needs them and only where it needs them. I just look at the Canik as a teenagers idea of what a gun should look like. Also, it's a Turkish gun. All their stuff is cheap.
Piece of garbage!! Brand new pistol fired twice and jammed. Then jammed trying to just rack the rounds out. Called Century. They said they would send a new recoil spring. I asked how long it would take as this is a new gun I was excited about having. “A week or so” was the reply. I bought it from buds guns. I got the extra warranty. Buds said their guarantee doesn’t start for a year. So they canceled my warranty without my approval. Now I have a hammer instead of a pistol with zero guarantee. Except that I will never own another Canik and I will never spend money with lying Buds!

I own a few Caniks and love them all. The trigger on the Rival is second to none.
Rivals are closer to 600 dollars, which makes it even easier to like! Love mine
Got mine for $545 plus FFL fee. So it was a great price for something that compares well to $800 to $1200 competition quality firearms.
This is my baby right here and my carry everyday.. its so smooth boths looks and performance.. cant go wrong
The Rival-S is my next gun

Not much on the market that can outshoot the Rival. I have shot a few about as good, but the cost was starting at 3 times as much.
