Such a shame they chose not to get Ben Bartlett back for the soundtrack. Hopefully they keep kenneth branagh as the voice at least. My concern is that if they change everything around it wont feel like walking with dinosaurs season 2, itll feel like a completely different show
If wwd2 doesn’t keep Ben Bartlett and/or Kenneth Branagh, I have high hopes for surviving earth, which is being made by the Orginal wwd creator, to do so

That was the entire impetus behind the original series, an attempt to show dinosaurs as the simple animals they were as opposed to their film history as stock monsters.
@@SasquaDash if this one does well, I hope for an entire walking with... Sequel series, maybe bringing us back to the golden age of nature documentaries.
@@thechickenboyshow7229 A reboot of the entire Walking With series would be great. I really hope this one does well so that BBC will consider doing more.
WWD was my childhood (giant of the skies made me cry every time 😭) However I’m very hesitant on this one. What made Walking with dinosaurs special is 3 things: 1. Drama. While the animals in the original series were portrayed realistically at the time, there was also an underlying dramatic narrative of sorts. It wasn’t just “Dino eats, Dino mates, etc etc.” it had drama, it gave them a sense of purpose, like “Dino must find their way to the north to get a mate, however it must survive the trials and tribulations along the way.” 2. Music. The orchestral music in WWD was PEAK 3. Practical effects. The original WWD used a mixture of CGI and practical effects. Like there would be an actual modeled foot or head of the dinosaur in the close up shots. It gave it this unique feeling and the people who worked on the puppetry/animatronics were talented beyond measure. I’m only going to watch it if it has practical effects and music. I can go without the dramatic narratives that the original WED had, but leaving out the music and practical effects is a dealbreaker.
@@vishaansingh1019yeah some of it was iffy, however maybe I’m just looking at through rose tinted glasses but the puppetry in other scenes was really good.
I cannot wait to see how Walking with Dinosaurs will compare to Prehistoric Planet in terms of scientific research. I just know it'll somehow find a way to hit at the heart strings, I'm super excited to watch it!
walking with dinosaurs was the whole reason I started to love dinosaurs this is amazing I can't wait. it also made me cry the first time I watched it because I was very little and watching a scary dinosaur go and kill and eat another one was not something I could handle at least for a couple minutes because then I watched the whole thing and loved it. I really hope its good
I really hope there will be an option to collect the episodes as CD's, like the first series! I remember going to the store with my mom when I was a little kid and begging her to buy me the new CD whenever they had one. Still have almost the whole 2008 series on my shelf. It feels like coming home to me ♥️
Fun fact: When I first heard the news about these images, I texted them to a member of my family, and I actually said “A MIRACLE HAS JUST BEEN BESTOWED UPON US”. I’m not lying when I say that XD
Love that the dinosaurs are looking more individual. There’s nothing that breaks my immersion in this kind of show as much as a herd of dinosaurs that you suddenly realise are all recycling the same model, texture, and walk cycle.
Paleoartist and paleontology graduate Hank Sharpe worked closely on some of the specimens inspiring the Albertosaurus segment and has said on X that some of the species might appear weird or inaccurate to the general public because scientific papers about them will only get published after the release date. So this new show might be quite ahead of the curve!!

Wait what?! I didn't knew this! The original Walking With Dinosaurs is an incredible series and a fond childhood memory. I'm really curious how they'll approach this new one!
This is definitely Albertosaurus. It reminds me of a particular specimen, and I know Albertosaurus had a slightly boxier skull than Gorgosaurus. Besides, Gorgosaurus was extinct by the time Pachyrhinosaurus was around.
Hey Evo! The part where you mention that we will cut to the experts explaining the fossil it's based on reminds me of When Dinosaurs Roamed America (Do check it out if you haven't) And Congrats on finally making a short news video LOL
I know someone personally who was recommended for the show. The film crew wanted to see what paleontologists do when on site. They filmed her brushing her teeth as she was getting ready for the day. We don't know if it will be kept in the show but we find it kinda funny.

This is very excited! I cannot wait to see documentary film! It's telling us to go back to our prehistoric time travel to rescue and save those living animals from our three eras called Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic!
I hope the modern day segments are at the end of the episodes. Something along the lines of 'you've seen the episode, here's the evidence to back up what we showed you'.
I think I will enjoy having paleontologists pop in periodically during the episode to explain some of the science behind the depictions. Prehistoric Planet went the "full immersion" route, which I think worked wonderfully, but it left something to be desired for the nerds like me who are always wondering how we know what we know (i.e., what behaviors does the fossil record provide evidence for, what are we making inferences about and what evidence informs those inferences, etc.). I completely understand wanting to show dinosaurs in their heyday as opposed to looking back on them with the knowledge of their extinction looming, but I wanted to see so much more from Darren Naish and company talking about recent discoveries and the nuances of their recreations. (This obviously has more to do with the behind-the-scenes featurettes than the episodes themselves, but all of this is to say, bring on the paleontologists!)
Honestly I'm excited to see how this will turn out, and it's a shame Ben won't return for the music but if they can get Kenneth back for narrating, it'll still be great. My main concern is practical effects to make the dinosaurs more realistic.
