I would stain the chair and add seat cushions to them both. Good Find!

When we stain wood, we're also helping to preserve it. Especially if the material that it's made of isn't good for outdoor wear and tear.
I would stain the chair to match the other and let them age together from that point. An outdoor cushion is a soft garden color would complete the cozy look.

I had a rickety old black wicker chair forever.. I would fill it w dried roses . As an art installation.. eventually it just got too weathered, I moved and it was one of the first things to go.. but.. I miss it...

I would probably stain the other one to match. I would also put cushions on the them. That would hide the one chairs damaged seat too. 😊
I would spray the new one with a sealer to protect it, and not change the color. They each have a story, one older one younger..just like us. ❤
Blessings. I would stain those nice chairs, and place colorful cushions in them. The cushions could help block sun fading to some extent. I suggest you bring them in out of weather or heavy downpours to keep them from speedily rotting out.

Don’t stain the chair. And even when you’re not sitting in, it’s sticking out in the sun and eventually they’re going to match and look really old English cottage look. ❤

I have the same teapot!
To age the terra-cotta pot, soak it in a tub of water for 15 minutes. If that doesn’t get the results you want, put plain yogurt all over it and let it sit for a little bit.
How awesome that you found a matching chair. ❤it’s always so satisfying to find what you’ve been looking for. I’d stain the chair to match the other one but it looks aesthetically pleasing regardless. Always delighted to see that you’ve posted anew video. ❤

How about matching cushions to further tie them together. I wouldn’t paint them, but perhaps a sealant. I miss Smokey. 🐈

Hi Sarah, I think I would match the colors of the chairs with stain,or paint. I love white wicker. I would be too impatient to wait for it to fade naturally. That will take years. Cute cushions and you have yourself a nice pair . Good find! Also you could try soaking the terracotta pot in a bucket of bleach water to age and fade it a bit. Your videos always inspire me to go thrift😊Have a great day!
Hi Sarah, we are the same age! I was born in October of 79, so I’m turning 45 later this year. Great finds ❤ I am lucky to live near the best thrift store around. People come to it from hours away, because the prices are so good, and they always put out a ton of new stuff. My struggle is to not go there so much. It can be addictive! But so much fun 😊

I turned 45 in February. Only thing i don't care for about aging is the hormonal imbalance and trying to figure it out. Otherwise, I'm loving my 40s. 😜🤗😍

LOVE that pot and those chairs. Beautiful! I can't get enough of thrifting - we didn't do it much growing up but since I became a homemaker I have realized how in love I am with it. 💕 love seeing what you find!

Love that you were able to find a matching chair, I’d probably stain the other chair, then spray them both with something like weather defense to protect them. Can’t wait to see all your herbs on your shelving in your kitchen that will be absolutely lovely. Have a great week 💜💜💜
I like the shape of the clay pot. Very pretty. Having the chairs not match is very cottage like. Maybe paint both of them? Add cushions? I’m sure whatever you do will look great!!

It would bother me so I would have to try and make the chairs similar in color. So, I vote for a stain or wash to make them twins.
Stain it. Of course, you should do what makes sense to you, but it will take a while for the newer chair to fade, and by then, the older will be even more faded. Start them at the same point, and while they may never be the same, at least they'll be a little closer in color
Hi Sarah. Love the matching chairs. I think i personally would leave the chair the way it is. The pot you got is nice too. There are directions on Pinterest on how to age clay pots… I’ve pinned them. Your hydrangea bush looks beautiful ! I have hydrangeas lining my driveway and they have all gotten burnt by the sun. I live in New England snd we are experiencing 90 plus degrees. … very hot! I would stay in the other chair because as they are they will never fade evenly and catch up with each other for color if you stain the 10-dollar chair eventually the two will fade evenly

Most herbs love full sun. So maybe Rosemary, Lavender, Sweet Laurel (Bay Leaves) might be worth thinking about for the front of house.. I heard you when you said you want them in the kitchen and why not? - it’s your home and it’s only your family’s opinions that matter, but they would also make for a fragrant entrance. Happy Days 🦘🇦🇺
I 100% agree about the prices at thrift stores! The meaning of thrift is "to use money carefully, not wastefully or avoiding waste" and thrifting means "going to garage sales, flea market are thrift stores & finding gently used items at discounted prices" So that's what we expect as a customer to find these things at good prices because we are trying to be careful with our money! The funny thing is when you google "what is thrifting" it says according to Good Will!! Imagine that🤔 lol We owned a thrift store for almost 5yrs in Tennessee. We've recently moved so we no longer own it. But we never over priced, actually took a lot less for things of value than we should have but our name & the sign out front said thrift store on it. If it had said "and antiques" then we could have gotten for prices for the antiques or old vintage things we had. There's just A big difference in the name. But regular items we lots of time let the customer tell is what they'd give for it, always cut prices down when they bought lots of things, just helped people out! We were blessed & liked blessing others. Our store helped support the men's recovery home we ran. It was A blessing in many ways! I'll definitely miss it! But God is leading us into a new season, a different direction in ministry so 🤷♀️ But I won't over pay in a thrift store either, even if it supports an organization! Because if you bless, you get blessed!😊 So many cant afford new things! I Love the chairs, i think you got a pretty good deal too. I love terra cotta pots as well! We didn't have A habitat in the area where i lived in TN, but there's a large one just up the roada couple miles from me here in FL, so I'm excited for that! We've got to have furniture so hopefully that'll be a good place to look! The cloth looks like a linen/cotton blend, the same most tea towels are made from, has that same look & texture. I used to be very cold natured, loved the summer & all the sun, until about 7yrs ago it just all changed! Now i can take the heat, love fall & even winter.. which was of of my fav things about TN. Its absolutely miserabe in FL the biggest part of the year! And yes I've asked the Lord whyyyy😩 but we're not to question! But its tough, i just try not to go out unless necessary. From November thru early March its nice. January & Feb. there are actually some cold-ish nights & gorgeous days! But I'm not getting rid of my winter things, I'm planning to make getaway trips😁 Stained & crazed ironstone is usually way higher priced, as you know.. sweet deal on that pretty pair! Really enjoyed todays video, can't wait to get back to thrifting down here, there's dozens & dozens of thrift & antique stores both nearby & all within less than an hour!! Have A blessed week..TFS😊
You could give the chair light stain & let them fade out together to be more the same color 🤷♀️ The older one may keep getting lighter & the newer one never really catch up but always stay a bit darker. Just A thought! You'll use them either way so its just if you want to put the time into it really 🤷♀️

Your lemon thyme needs more sun, badly. Cut It back to about two-thirds of its present size, put it in full sun after conditioning it for that, water it well at first but don't let it stand In water. You don't need to repot it yet, or the soil will keep too much water around the roots. Herbs need full sun.
Maybe a woolen blanket or throw for the chairs...
put yoghurt on the pot and leave it out. that will age it
