its really nice to see the Warriors franchise seeming to FINALLY realize "oh hey these people dont want realistic cats" after literal years of the fandom making stylized cartoon and anime cats. like for so long they seemed to stick SO HARD to the at least semi-realism thing. even in the vinyls they seem really resistant to cut down on detail. the graphic novels and these plushes feel like theyre finally going "oh people REALLY like these lil guys"
I love the Scourge one. He looks like a edgy little kitty in the most adorable way. It makes me want to take him home and introduce him to my Bristlefrost plushie.
i like how they're taking into account as many designs as they can for these characters, aside from like scourge ofc, cause that's pretty much set in stone aside from the collar. it adds uniqueness to each piece of merch they decide to experiment with. and oh my stars these new plushies are ADORABLE. desperately need a squirrelstar and a tigerstar right now

Im curious if Jayfrost from blogclan is still designing them or if they got a different artist? edit: I just checked and they will be using Jayfrost's designs for the new plushies, which means we will likely see pale eyed, striped long haired Ashfur again! Also I'm curious how they will handle long haired cats since the of plushies didn't do a good job with Mapleshade
Now see these are ones I actually want to buy!! The other cat plushies just reminded me too much of, like, the animal plushes you would find at National Parks. They're cute and "realistic" but ultimately didn't remind me of the characters at all. I'm so on board for this!

It says a lot that I saw a picture of these shared in my Discord group and said “aww these are cute. The official merch could never.” Before being ABSOLUTELY floored that it was real.
my hope is that they actually hired somebody that knows what sort of merch the fandom does. the disparity between the official merch and fan-made merch was huge, making all of the official merch look bad in comparison. i have never been interested in buying official merch because they don't look good, but now i'm reconsidering. those are cute plushies and, if they keep this up and actually listen to the fans' wants for merch, then they might actually find more people actually want to buy that merch.

Finally some good merch, hope they're not final though because yeah I hate the outline on firestar and both plushes look battered, knowing the plush merch scam controversy also with the original plushes and how they downgraded some like Brightheart I think, I worry these will turn ratty in the final product from lack of effort. It's also surprising it took them this long to make these designs AND a stylized comic when the majority of their fanbase exists because people like to draw and animate cats. Also where's the bloodclan merch?? Don't they know how much it'd sell if they gave us merch treating bloodclan like an actual clan? I don't want skyclan I want bloodclan I want to wear a bloodclan shirt with my spiked collar and studded bracelets!
Okay, on the fabric quality of Firestar being worse than Scourge's: So I'm a plush maker and collector. Printed fabric is almost ALWAYS less soft than nonprinted. See Squishmallows for example: the ones with solely embroidered and/or applique details feel soft no matter how you pet them, but the printed ones feel weird and jarring the pet against the grain. This is just something that happens with printed fabric, which is why I always prefer applique and embroidery, but I'm assuming they're not gonna do that because printing is easier/cheaper to do huge batches of
