Greg Daniels and Michael Shur deserve a lot of credit for their creativity with this as Jerry Gergich and Toby Flenderson are basically the same character as they both serve as the punching bag trope for their respective series. Only in The Office, Toby's life was in constant misery despite attempts to fix it throughout the series. Whereas with Jerry the opposite happens as Jerry's life improves throughout the series. I’m shocked that the scene when Ben says that he like Jerry from “Galentine’s Day” (Season 6). Another thing about this scene is Donna says Ben is embarrassing himself saying that and that would be hypocritical if Jerry and Donna are friends in the 7th season. Even though season 7 took place 3 years after the 6th. It just shows that Donna doesn’t really want her co-worker to know they are friends.
Even though his bullying always upset me, it makes me wonder how many of us go about life thinking we're ok people while considering normal that the kindest individuals are mistreated, even by us. We tend to give respect only to those who are louder and can respond if made fun of, clapping back. Weaker individuals won't clap back but will whine about being victimised. His treatment of Garry at work is one of those ways and one of his flaws, a flaw he shares with most of the ensemble cast of the show. I'm almost sure it's an intentional move by the writers to add realism to the characters.
Ron doesn't actively bully Jerry to my memory though. He just lets it happen which is just as bad if not worse.
@@Ray_D_Tutto Nobody bullies Garry. That's not bullying. They taunt him and make fun of him. That's no bullying.
@@alphanerd7221 i get what you're saying because they usually come around and do something nice, but bullying is the imbalance of power WITHIN taunting/name-calling/etc. ribbing is two friends making fun of each other. bullying is someone like garry knowing he wont be stood up for, never pushing back, and being taunted anyway.
Must be weird being Christie Brinkley getting cast as "Super hot perfect wife" I mean there's roles where looks and persona come into it, but she's literally in the role of "perfect woman"
jerry really had a beautiful ending
Jim O'Heir deserves all the accolades and more work if he wants it!
Hot air balloon, daytime fireworks and Centurions!
