One of the things I really enjoy in this RTP is the tAnam GNB sings around 25:20, producing the sort of oscillations one usually hears from MSG's violin. And MSG's repartee perfectly recapitulates it too! Great imagination here.
A beautiful RTP. Mridangam by CSM is so tender and does not interfere with GNB's flow but adds to the beauty. This is called perfect accompaniment. The same masterly touches of Pazhani. The same goes for the violin by MSG. Maestro GNB's majestic voice adds to the splendor of the raga. I love this raga. I sometimes wonder why did saint Thyagaraja did not compose many more kirtanams in this ragam. This ragam does not have the repertoire of a Kambhoji or Kharaharapriya as far as kirtanams go. Not even a quarter. The first time when I heard this piece , I was transfixed and after that I got hooked on to this ragam. Wow!
He should have lived many more years so that the rasikas and the present days music lovers would have got the opportunity to enjoy his music unterrruptedly.
It is true that rasikas listening to GNB were carried away by his music and liked to sing in his way. But GNB was said to have strictly advised those rasikas to sing in their own way and do not try to imitate him
@@drkrsna Before reading this, I felt the same way. I was wondering myself as to how the the great GNB sir was bringing in TNR and Nagaswaram notes in his (GNS's) inimitable voice. I feel proud that even a lay man like me can enjoy the music of GNB .
An absolute thrill listening to that great musicians, Shri G.N.B, Shri M.S.G. rendering their voice n music to perfection. Thank u for ur time.
Thanks for listening
MSG just putting bow on the sa string might be the purest, cleanest, most sanctifying sound in all of music.
Just a Splendid rendering. Transports you to ethereal world.
Blessed were the audience who heard it alive. ❤

GNB's long alapanas are packed with so much musicality you only begin to appreciate the depth of his music after listening to it many times.
Maestros' confluence. Beautifully constructed Pallavi.
only GNB can handle this raga magnificently and with ease. What a great way of singing. Thanks for uploading.
Great musician. God,s special children.

no words can express the beauty of the artists
No Violinst came even closer to GN Sir s Vidwat, MSG being the lone exception who at times overpowers GN.
Ada daa daa....
Sangeetham kathukanum guru iruntha sollunga please🙏
Lalgudi jayaraman and chowdaiah are equally competent with skill of gnsirand there is no overplaying like msg.
Please dont even compare here and you may find Lalgudi sir Chowdiah sir more competent. Help yourself by listening to more concerts. Peace 😊🙏
And why this comparison in the first place?
I wish I sang like him
Go to the back of the line 😊

GNB himself was a great fan of nadhaswaram and took it as a challenge to produce that in his voice. Especially that of T N Rajarathnam pillai.
