The statement they put out today, and that "independently yours" sign-off made me so excited. This is a huge move for them! And I'm too obsessed with their Burnin Down the House cover, it's just phenomenal, I've been listening to it every day. The one thing that made me kind of surprised was the new logo. Maybe it was just me, but I was speculating that getting off their label might bring about an induction of the Para-four into the band, since they seem so close. But the 3 person logo means that's probably not the case.
The sign off had to be such an empowering and huge moment for them! The new logo is simple, but sweet in my opinion. Bringing the Para-Four into the band would be a nice move, so who knows what'll happen in the future.
this is dope it feels Paramore is just getting started! They’re a hugely influential band that can make some significant changes to the industry if they put their efforts into that
I was introduced to their music a few months back and have since become a fan. I know I missed out on a lot, but I like the sound of this new beginning so I’m excited to see what the future holds
I hope they make a huge difference. Getting into music as a small indie creator like me is super difficult when everything is about money. I get why it is, but this is why it also needs to change
I hope so too. Record labels hold too much power within the industry, so this holds so many indie artists back. More artists are starting to go indie, so maybe the industry is on a trajectory towards musicians owning what they create. Also, I wish you the best of luck with your music :)
I don't have much knowledge about the music industry. However, since the band is officially independent, I am wondering if they will sign a distribution deal to release their future music. For instance, Megan Thee Stallion, although being part of a small indie label, has a significant agreement with Warner Bros. Do you believe that the band will follow the same path?
Excited to see what they can do independently and if this is the start of some major change in the industry. Times have changed, you definitely can get somewhere without a major label.
The music industry really needs to find a new way to bring music to the people in a way that makes everyone money. Bands deserve to make money for their music, and record companies need to realize that they support the bands, not the other way around. But, no one buys records, tapes, or cds. No one pays per spin on their iPod. How do you generate revenue by putting out your music? Paramore is proving that the record companies are an unnecessary expense.
I agree. Artists barely make money through streams, which is their main way to get their music heard. A lot of money goes to the record labels, which means that the artists are getting even less. They make a good amount of their money from touring, merch, and sponsors. Hopefully, things will get better, and more artists will push to be independent 🤘
when you we're talking about them closing the this is why era with the live concert footage i got even more sad because they haven't even toured that album in mainland europe...
I'm sorry to hear that :( I hope they'll play some songs from the album whenever they open for Taylor this summer, because it's an amazing experience live, and y'all deserve it!
Do you think it was their record label that was a lot of why they stuck with the same image for so many years? It seems like once you're part of a label, it's hard to really break out of that mold. I'm from more of a Goth Rock background, but Paramore's story is definitely interesting.
This is all stuff I said months ago and everyone said I was crazy. Lol. N, I just understand that a band that classically get screwed by their label has some decisions to make, including on things like their social media and web hosting. Decisions take time, and they did it right by taking their time with it.
I started to see the vision too cause they’re already set in terms of popularity and money, so it only made sense that they go independent. I’m glad they took their time with it too since it shows that they actually care about the band and the fans 🙏
Paramore > Taylor Swift… by a thousand times. Despite the fallacy that TS writes her own music, she leans on nearly a dozen writers and producers and has to be shown how to play her own songs where Paramore outside of one producer is DIY.
I don’t wanna pit the two against each other cause that can get toxic fast. They make two different styles of music too. Both are good in their own ways imo. Let’s just appreciate both 🫡
@@DeadPlayin I'd rather have indie labels than major labels tbh. Taking Back Sunday is on the indie label Fantasy Records and they've been doing a lot of cool things over there!
@@megano2000 Same, because a lot of these major labels are greedy and put their musicians in unfortunate situations for years. Indie labels just let the musicians do their own thing, which leads to more creative and innovative music
What does that stuff have to do with them being an independent group or not? You can be independent and still have a team around you, lmaoooo. They have millions of fans, and lots of responsibilities to take care of that they started before they went independent, so I'm not really getting your point here.
@@ab8817 I mean what did he say that was wrong? It is true that you can be independent and still have to have people that book your tour dates and do the marketing and publicity stuff for you. All of that stuff is basically impossible for 3 people to do on their own. How much control does any of that even have on artistic freedom? If asking for clarity is being naive, then could you at least explain what we are missing so that we aren't as naive?
Paramore doesn't get that to get a new revival, they should just drop a new pop punk emocore songs and them move on to a more matured sound. Just feed the fans with nostalgia, then we see what happens.
Well, I feel like they don’t really need a revival. They’re as popular as ever right now, so I think they’re chilling there. I appreciate that they always try something new instead of feeding into nostalgia, because they’re staying true to themselves and want to advance their sound. They don’t wanna get stale, and that’s perfectly fine to me, lmao

them and that damn typewriter font 😭
😭😭 i love it cause i’m just used to it at this point

They really got the chance to change the game for future musicians and present ones. I hope they make the best of it 🙏
I'm here for it! This industry is trash
Me too!
@@DeadPlayin yep, me too, the industry is trash. because of the industry, no one wants to acknowledge Taylor Swift original recordings anymore.
@@123theprodigy5 but it’s for a good reason though
Good for them! They're definitely big enough to do it all on their own and have no problem with it.
Definitely! This is only a positive for them in my opinion.
Great video! Was waiting for Paramore to drop some news - all of the suspense was making me nervous hahaha
Thank you so much! Me too, cause it’s been an uneasy month or so, lmaooo.

awesome video! i'm so happy for them to be working alone and finally be able to do their own thing

Honestly, I don’t really know. I feel like their image changed along the way tbh. Each of their albums have a unique theme/image imo
It’s too fuzzy to see me but I am technically in this video at 2:45 😎
Yoooo, this was my footage from the Enterprise Center show back at the end of July! I’m glad to know that you were at the same show :)

Love them for this

Seemed to work out well for Papa Roach 👍
Hey, great reaction. If you like paramore maybe you also like music from The Warning. Their new song is called S¡CK.
Thank you! I’ll check them out 🤘
I saw this!
Not surprised. A lot of rock/emo bands are going independent.
And that's honestly a win for the musicians. Power to those who are putting in the work to make great music

I just feel like most people are too poor to buy records. It’s an expensive hobby/collection to have sadly
Unfortunately it is. Some get mad expensive. I hope to cover vinyls eventually
Hell yeah. Labels suck - just freeloaders who turn your art into a job and a product.
For most of the bigger ones, that’s true. Not all labels are bad though thankfully
they still have a publicist and PR team, a mangement team, a booking agent, entire teams of people working for them. this means nothing.
