Air tags or tiles are great. My husband can be forgetful and I don't want to lose him when we're ashore! He has one on him at all times, it really gives me piece of mind.

I never thought to have them on us. I love shopping and some ports have a “few” shops and my hubby is always looking for me instead of shopping. I 😂😂
Just went on my first cruise in over 20 years. I have the silicone covers and used one for my soap. Bought some Olive oil soaps in Greece and put the round soap in one of the silicone covers and it worked well. Used the magnet hooks to hang our bathing suits. Thank you for all of your advice!

Ilana, my husband and I recently completed our first cruise on the Celebrity Edge to Alaska and your tips were invaluable! We now have two more future cruises booked with Celebrity. I feel like a cruising pro, lol. We brought a few strong magnetic hooks with us and we were able to place my hanging toiletry bag in the bathroom using one of them which was very handy (although the Sky Suite in the Edge had wonderful storage shelves available). One of the other things we brought that you recommended were a few magnetic motion lights for use when moving about the dark cabin in the middle of the night, it's a small thing that made such a difference. Thank you for all your wonderful advice!

We did the 52 day from Italy to New Zealand It ended in Sydney Australia about this time last year October to January on the Edge it was a wonderful trip... They were repositioning the ship for Alaska they have an amazing crew!

I ordered some of those folding hangers when I saw them on your channel some time ago. I thought it was too bad they weren’t useful for pants and skirts until I figured outs a simple hack. I grabbed a stray length of very narrow ribbon that was lying around in my sewing room and cut it into short lengths. I stitched a folded loop of the ribbon into each side of the inside waistband of all my travel pants, so now I can hang these from the loops. It only took a couple of minutes of hand-stitching to do four or five pants, and the loops are quite invisible when worn.

Ilana, I love the motion sensor light. I bought a few at Costco and I like this one better because it turns on immediately and stays on longer- as advertised- for 30 secs. I use it in my bathroom for night time visits….it must be more sensitive to motion. it’s good to have a mixture of battery operated lights AND re chargeable one’s. You saved me a lot of research time. Thank you 😊

We program it to go off every day at 7 am. The first time or two we used it it was a bit confusing, as it has to map your space I think. It got better by the 3rd time 🤣

Two items I now use for long haul flights: compression socks and a blow up foot stool ( extended legroom 💺 needed) but it makes a world of difference for me 😊

Five days and counting, before my 21 day Panama Canal cruise. I just used a 1 quart freezer bag, for the TSA liquid check. I also have one of those Euro plug "thingies", with two US type outlets, and three USB A, and one USB C ports.

Love your videos Ilana! However, please spread the word that Holland America's Volendam does NOT have metal walls - either in the cabin or bath (Ocean View stateroom.) This may be true of the Zaandam, also, but we cannot confirm that. We purchased a number of metal hooks & clips - unfortunately we were past the return date when we found this out, by writing to HAL's "Ship Services". Our personal cruise consultant gave us misinformation - stating that our cabin walls were metal - but Ship Services advised that was incorrect. Now we need another way to be creatively efficient! (We leave on HAL's pole-to-pole world cruise in January 2025!)

While it's not on sale for Prime day I find that a leak proof water bottle is essential especially if you fly often. This is important because with some water bottles if you open it once a a cabin has been pressurized water will go everywhere when you open it.

Another great deal today is on the Samsung SmartTag2 if you're in the Samsung/Android ecosystem. Usually they're $30ea, but they're on sale today for $20.99 or a 4 pack for $68.71 ($17.18 each)! I'm picking up a 4 pack for myself so i can add to my existing single SmartTag1 and make sure all of my bags are locatable.

I find in my experience doing Mediterranean cruising that if you go between the end of September and the beginning of May, it is really not that hot, so you would not need a fan.

They also have Samsung tags for tracking. That way you don't have to pay a subscription fee. The tile trackers you have to pay a subscription for so not only do you have to pay for the tile tracker, but then you have to pay a monthly fee.

I bought Tile for Samsung but it is only bluetooth, so the range is 100 meters. Useless for luggage.
I am happy to see I have 98 percent of these items! That is either good or bad. Ha. But this is a great list. I could never figure out my Bluetooth adapter on my last two flights. Maybe on my Dec cruise flight.I dont have the snorkel stuff. Dont use that. Funny one of my silicone covers actually broke apart like a burst balloon, but I do love them. You make the best lists. Random question: Is “necklaces” pronounced ‘neck laces’ in Canada? Most US people that I know pronounce it as ‘neck-la-cees’. I love find small differences like this.

It’s an organization system. Some people keep their folded items in cubes as well so it’s easier & faster to unpack (and repack) :)
