Great that they're starting to feature non-celebrities. The stories are no less compelling.

Good on her to honor her ancestors, no matter what, because, as she says, she wouldn't be here without them.

I thought she was so kind and forgiving. Articulate, emotionally mature, and warm.

I fortunately was able to watch this full episode and I was so touched by this Lady and the story of her Great Grandfather. For those of you that won’t be able to see the full episode. Walters mother was a white lady name Elenora and she had some type of a relationship with Walter’s Father, a married younger neighbour who happened to be on the record books listed as Mulatto. Mixed race or black is a better terminology than the offensive Mulatto. When Walter was 5 she made the heart breaking decision to leave Walter with another family to be raised because in those years it was illegal to have a relationship with a person of colour. Terrie response to the whole story is absolutely beautiful. Her understanding and kindness is a beautiful. Such a lovely lady. My heart just went out to her and Walter and their entire family.

Who else was wondering if Lenora lived over 100 like her son Walter? Walter longevity could have came from his father side or maybe it was just him. Weird to think someone born in 1880 was still living when I was born. I don't even know anyone born before the 1900's. When he talked about being a kid in the 90's it would have been the 1890's. Living to 105 is rare. Sad that having a different skin color can cause families to turn their backs on their kids.

@@aquaabundance4077The commenter is thinking about her/his own ancestors because of the video. Seems obvious to me.
