Oddly enough I drove through this one last night, but I don't think the lights are there any more. I may have not been paying attention but we were stopped at the crossing for a good few minutes and I don't recall seeing them!
I'm sorry to hear that Nathan. I trust that was in the middle of last week? If you had come on Friday (22/4/15), you would have found me working it on the early turn; the colleague pictured was off that day. Hope you'll find the time to come and do a video of Rolvenden and Cranbrook Road for me please!! Best regards
+Nick Wellington Well I'll try to get around sometime but things are hard at the moment with my exams and my dad moving house (he's the one who takes me to all these crossings)
Them temporary traffic lights are still there from when the signaler was knocked over by a passing car whilst closing the gates. I believe this crossing is going to have an upgrade soon with LED wigwags and SPX barriers.
Maidstone WEST, Nathan, not the East. BTW, don't forget the "footpath with warning bells" at Tovil. Used to be one at Aylesford (Mill Hall) but that's now closed.
Oldest Level Crossing Very Before: Traffic Light and Manual Gates (NO ALARM) Before: Level Crossing Wigwags and Manual Gates (NO ALARM) After : Level crossing Wigwags And Automatic Barriers Lower and raise (ALARM ADDED)

Nice job! You don't usually see traffic lights at a manual level crossing!
They are there because the signalman got knocked down a while back, so they are there to protect the signalman.

+UK Level Crossings That is the reason that I filmed it now. Wateringbury is next on the list.
+Nathan A RF Apparently when the car rammed the gate the gate threw the signaller by force giving him neck and head injures.
+Nathan Rigby Didn't actually hit the gate much. The car knocked the signalmen over whilst he was trying to shut the gates.
So him getting hit by a car means he's going to lose his job? Talk about unlucky..
