🤓☝ AKSCHUALLY: some answers to be corrected. - Q: *Will the mod still move to Thrones of Britannia?* A: We never stated we would. We said we are considering it for AFTER our campaign is in a refined state (after a few releases). No other games are even planned to be considered for a port. - Q: *How will the fellowship mechanic work?* A: There's no "Fellowship" mechanic per se, and none are planned, *for now*, but of course we would want a Ring script for good factions. We answered "No" because many people were asking about a Fellowship faction, which can't work in a TW setting. - Q: *Is the differences between Attila engine and Warhammer significant, or not really? Is it possible to transfer at least some of the progress of mod developing to new total wars?* A: Legally we just can't mod WH with other IPs, so it's not a venue we have considered. As for other games, it would take way too long to understand the campaign and be able to edit it. - Q: *How scripted is the campaign going to be? Aka how many scripts will there be for the factions?* A: Here with "9 playable factions" we are referring to v1, more are planned for later. - Q: *Is there an option to recruit balrogs or shelob's spiders?* A: If we had animators (and more 3D modelers), we would be able to be very expansive in our custom creatures choices. Until we get one, we can't even plan for them, which is why only the Mûmakil is planned for now. Thanks Terminator for the super comprehensive video of our very chaotic event! More is to follow! Also everyone please keep in mind we are trying to condense our work so that we can get the campaign out and get you guys in game, as well as people in the team to make our development faster.

DaC is V5, they had many iterations and a lot of time to fine-tune their mod. The also have benefits of (some) better mechanics of the base game. I would suggest to try to treat them as different mods and enjoy both.
I'm glad that won't be magic in battles, just a realistic LOTR battles, just as movies are. For me Warhammer series aren't even a Total War game, looks like League of Legends... TDD yes, it will be an acurrate fantasy Total War for my taste, fantasy but realistic at the same time. 😉
Does anyone know if there would be a way to unpack the game files and change some of the features? For instance, I like playing with the elves, and having slower recruiting and population growth is something I’d want to reverse. Would that be possible?
Good point. Sadly it isn't something we can fix. Atlassian (Trello owner company) a few months ago changed their free terms of use and now the boards become read-only (impossible to modify) when the team is bigger than 5 members. So, we naturally moved away from Trello and physically can't maintain it anymore. Not by our choice
Why don’t you accept it? I think we do not give money to have some priorities or something, just to show us how gratefull we are for all your time passed on it@@TheDawnlessDays
No, it would take way too long to understand the game enough to edit it to create a campaign for it. Without even mentioning the time it will take to change every asset. TOB is the same engine, just, better. It will take very little effort to port the mod. BUT WE HAVEN’T DECIDED YET.
Dawnless Days does not need a supply system, in a magical world where something like lambas bread exists it makes little sense and detracts from the fantasy element of it
The more grounded a fantasy setting is, the better. You can't explain the rules of the world by just magic, it's abstract, it's vague and people cannot relate to it. The closer a setting / story to how people experience their lives, the bigger the chance they'll like it. Just because something is fantasy doesn't give an excuse to produce no-brainers. That being said, we don't plan on making a supply system V1 due to the amount of work it will take and due to the quality of it (we are just a mod, remember)
@@TheDawnlessDays What are the chances to contact CA to ask them to optimize Attila so the players dont experience the bottle neck and FPS fall when we have a lot of units on a map?

this should have just been a warhammer mod, skewed, yes, because official modding tools do not allow custom 3d models to be put in, but there are actually unofficial 3d model viewers and model importers developed if you know how to search them, friend phazer must still have the github for the TW model viewer still around, animations and models CAN be put into warhammer, unofficially, you even have musket reload animation mods and karl franz dancing around youtube... it should have been on warhammer to get advantage of the monster and flying unit behaviours, plus legendary lords and "end times" invasions... huge missed opportunity, hopefully sometime along the years it can be ported to warhammer and get those LoTR beasts done justice
You don't understand lord of the rings if you think that lotr is closer to warhammer than to real world. Lotr certainly has flying units but how many? Eagles and Fell Beasts, both of which are tiny in numbers to make up armies. Lotr is not about shiny magic fireballs flying around the battlefield. It's historically-accurate realistic battles where people (albeit different races) in armour fight each other with swords, bows and cavalry.

Rome 2 is far less moddable than Attila. This mod was for Rome 2 originally, we moved for that exact reason.
