Interesting approach to prepare a sculpture parts to pinning: Shaping out a rough bone structure first and gluing the limbs in position, before you finish fleshing out the body.
What surprised me the most however was how easily you could detach the whole dress, when the clay had dried. how did it not stick to the body?
This clay can be glued by applying water. Adhesion without water allows for easy removal after drying.

How do you get into this kind of figurine making anyway
@@SaltedMallows buy some wire and clay and just go at it! i've been doing it for a year now, and mine are ok. you can learn techniques as needed with google and youtube as you go along

everything in this video is so precise, it's amazing. i was confused at first as to why you would detach the limbs but eventually it was revealed that you did so in order to make the clothing removable! i've never seen something like that done with a hand-sculpted clay piece before. keep up the good work!
Man, this is getting me motivated to return to traditional sculpting again... Bought a resin printer not too long ago and learning to sculpt digitally without a clear workflow is kinda burning me out. (I really want to use the printer since I feel like it would be wasted money if I don't)
There seems to be a technique of 3D scanning and digitally finishing a sculpture that you have carved yourself to some extent.
@@nendomade2460 Got a question, does making a figure from resin (making a mold and pouring resin into it) use more material than printing it with a printer?
Yes, I agree. Printers can duplicate as much as they want with only the materials they support.
With hand work, there are many other things needed, such as silicone for molds and resin to pour.
It takes a lot of time and money, but that is also the best part.

This is amazing. I used paper clay as well but never heard of this powder clay. I love how it holds fine details. If I nay ask how long does it take to cure? Love the final piece btw.

This clay is similar to paper clay, but it is sturdier because it also contains stone dust. Drying time depends on the thickness. So I work with it in small heaping.
Interesting. I would love to try this clay. Just purchase one pack for trial a bit pricey thought . But yeah it is what it is.

We use a type of clay called Air Dry Stone Clay. It is similar to paper clay, but it is composed mainly of stone dust, so it is very sturdy after drying.
I use a brand called New Fando.

かなり薄い部品もたくさん見えますが、fandoはスカルピーより硬いですか？
硬いです。
机の上から落とした程度ではびくともしません。柔軟性もあるので、思い切り曲げない限りは割れることもほぼないです。
その分乾燥が遅く、スカルピーほど細かい造形は難しいです。

そしてマテリアルがファンドということで。スカルピーとファンドは一長一短、それぞれに良い面と悪い面がありますが、ファンドは硬化すれば細かいパーツでも強度が出ますしヤスリでしっかり仕上げれば綺麗になるし、何より安価なのが魅力ですよねｗ

水筆はスカルピー×溶剤のように使えるのでオススメです！
ターンテーブルはサンワサプライのパソコン用の物を使ってます。アルミニウム製で、汚れても掃除しやすいものを選びました。

Why is your clay looks dry? Isnt air dry clay take times to dry ? Or do you speed the proces by some tool ? 🤔Im sorry for my bad English 😭 i hope i get an answer .. thankss
In the video, I dry them before each step.
In my case, I use an oven because natural drying takes a long time.

Use a temperature-controlled oven, as over-heating will cause expansion and deformation. I dry mine at 90°C for 15 minutes.

I see you don't use a metal armature, what do you use to ensure it doesn't crack and or break?
You can make armatures simply by drying clay that has been molded into bars and combining them with instant glue.
This clay dries very solidly.

Stronger than polymer clay. Basically, it can be glued if moisture is available. Clay is made from stone flour, pulp, synthetic adhesives, preservatives, and water.

This is a Water brush purchased from Amazon.It is a pen that is filled with water instead of ink.
