This surprised me. I'm glad that people remember Richard Belzer, I was a big fan, I guess I still am. Although, the Belz was one of the people who publicly ridiculed Andrew ''Dice'' Clay, when the industry was trying to blacklist him. I remember that pissed me off. Plus, I was surprised to see a fellow comic jump on that bandwagon to give Dice the proverbial kick in the teeth. While on TV, Hulk Hogan put the Belz in a sleeper hold (choked him out) and just let his unconscious body collapse to the ground, face first, splitting his forehead open. There was a lot of blood. So, I'm willing to give the Belz a pass on most things, as he has endured enough sh*t, already, and has made me laugh many times over.
    peace

To be fair, if you don't get what Dice was doing, people like Belzer would rally. I have to assume Belzer never got it. There's a little bit more going on with both of those people.

@@NobodyCaresALot I didnt get what Dice was doing. Well, I got what he was doing, I just didnt think it was very funny, but I knew he had a lot of fans and freedom of speech. It seemed counterproductive for an Entertainer to speak out against another Entertainer in a manner that would curtail their freedoms and ability to work.

I went through all that with my dad's potential theories etc and it just comes back full circle to simplicity. People as powerful as an entire military industrial complex simply just have to be unbothered. The way that he was killed was passionate, it was symbolic. His brother and his family had to watch him die. That's not insignificant. My earlier point about Ruby - is that wasn't his name. He changed his name from something that was overtly ethnic - to fit in with the Dallas crowd he wanted to associate with. That tells you who his friends were. You have to understand that their father Joe was a bootlegger. He was the one that pushed the boys into politics. JFK was even reluctant! Joe sr. went to places to get votes, he was concerned about the first catholic in office to be difficult to get through - and it was true. The same people who helped get the kennedy boys elected got trampled on by RFK. It was a real insult.
I hate discussing this subject. It's ugly and it's ancient history. JFK and RFK would want you to care about current events or even a charitable cause before an acient conspircy hunt. Care about that and don't give this dark shit the attention it wants.

I didn't even know about this stuff until an hour ago, but after some research, Belzer was completely out of his mind and was definitely not the hero of this story. This was a funny interpretation of the events, but witnesses and courts all sided with Hogan... and Hogan even apologized right away; he's a good man.
