Hello! Here a foreign lady listening and enjoying this episode, although I do not understand Bengali. Somehow I assumed that the conversations would be held in English. But then I decided to just take it all in, while listening and trying to capture that unique essence, atmosphere... After all, Bengali language, songs, poetry, culture itself is beautiful. Everything so simple and yet complicated. Words can not express how lucky I am to have found all these groups, firstly, Cactus, then Lakhichhaara, Fossils and others. Is it possible to find books or other sources of knowledge about Bengali music scene in Kolkata? This shows yet an other, dare I say, captivating side of India, my first love that keeps growing bigger and stronger like an evergreen tree. Sending love and light from little Latvia🇱🇻🤟 Elīza Post Scriptum I just subscribed to your channel.😊❤❤❤
Well, there is no contained source like books to be specific. But, the history and heritage of Bengali songs are huge. You can try searching resources on the internet for the followings. 1970 - 1990's: Kishore Kumar (Some consider him as the all time best of Indian music), Lata Mangeshkar, Hemanta Mukherjee songs 1990's- 20000's: Rise of the indie bands (Cactus, Fossils, Bhumi, etc.) 2010's - Arijit singh songs etc. If you wanna get into bengali pop/rock music, start with Holud Pakhi - Cactus Ami sidhu cheyechi tomay - cactus Aro ekbar and ekla ghrr : Fossils And there are a lot of other songs.
Loving it. One feedback: Language of the podcast is confusing. Even the guests are sometimes getting confused to pick a particular language to convey their thoughts.
Hate it, the way the guitarist was kind of snatching the mic from Pota da, it was absolutely ridiculous..i understand you guys are a team but seniors are seniors, dont do it again 🙏.. Pota da & Sidhu da are emotion even a whole college life, nostalgia for many of us.. Hope you will pay the proper respect next time.
