I'm lucky enough to be in Fort Worth and have seen Summer many times through the past few years. She's the real deal. I'm amazed at how she simultaneously comes across as vulnerable, but very strong and confident in her songs! Great job!
This song is true life... I'm french, 44, 2 ex-wife, 3 daughters (2 with the first, 1 with the second) and I think exactly like you. Love from France for this Lady and this channel ❤
This woman played Gottascheer Hall in Queens! I used to live next door from 2006 to 2010 and longed for hillbilly/Texas/Reddirt/Western music the entire time. Got it fed only once when Cross Canadian, Charlie Robison, REK, and friends came to a big show in Manhattan in 2009 or so. 13 years too late for me! I wish I had been there. Gottascheer Hall is a real treasure too. Bunch of Germans who came from Slovakia or somewhere outside of Germany proper right after WWII.
This song perfectly captures my feelings of fear, insecurity, or uncertainty of the future and self-doubt in past choices. It’s the most vulnerable and relatable song I’ve heard in quite sometime. Thank you for this beautiful gift that helps us feel less alone in these occasional feelings we all experience 🤍
This is such a great song. Well written and performed, and a great capture on video. The scene and setting fits the song. Summer's voice seems to roll out the lyrics with the ease of a craftsperson. And I'll admit, even as a single fella in his mid-50s, this resonates with me. Thanks, y'all 🙏🏻🤍
This is what great country music is, songs with heart and meaning. I love the vulnerability, and the power that comes out through the song. Especially interesting in this time of new waves of feminism.
@@ComedyBros5 Cause some can live a life and some can only write about it. Some are born to play the music, others just to listen and only some of them to hear. Takes a special man to capture this one, only to hold her loosely or she"ll be long gone.
Good stuff! Love the guitar sound on this one. Summer Dean is a gem! You guys are starting to figure out how to record these folks so they sound good. Best one in a while.
It's sad because I see myself in this song as well. 32 never been married and have no kids. It's been 8 years since I had been in any type of relationship.
Wowzer reminds of Rattle Snake Annie or Lacy J Dalton, great voice & song about false illusions of life's expectations & what a person suppose to be at a certain age
I’m a single 41 year old male with one divorce from about 10 years ago and no children.. I always said hell no no kids and practiced being damn safe as I sowed my wild oats far and wide. Then ran into a woman that didn’t know she had borderline personality disorder and got completely “love bombed”. Those with BPD are extremely good at making you feel like you’re the best everything but never seem clingy or anything. That and my friends deciding to advise me that I “needed to settle down some and she’d be good for me” led me to get serious and eventually married to this woman. Then about the time we got married she flipped to the next phase of the BPD script and decided I was doing everything wrong and even basically gross to her in some ways. Owe that’s great for your self confidence. I was the lead singer of multiple bands that played for at least a few hundred people at different bigger bar venues locally so it took some doing to destroy someone who’s confident enough to do that but eventually with some other bad personal experiences I finally lost myself and found myself to be a shell and basically what I thought of as a weak azz biddy. After getting away from that disaster I’ve very slowly built up my confidence but it doesn’t help that now that I’m over 40 I figure I’ll never hear a child say I love you daddy and it’s depressing af. I was so happy and totally ruined it and knowing it is so far an impossible pill to swallow. Great song Sorry for the long comment.
Single on purpose for the last 25 years or so and while there are things I do miss about relationships there's a lot more I don't. There's a degree of freedom here you can't get elsewhere.
Love you Summer! I'm a 44 year old, 24 year married, mom of 5, singing some WOMAN country as well. ;)
You’re not alone, Summer. Stunning performance. Straight up has me in tears 😭
This is too honest and real to make it to the radio. They can't handle honesty...Great tune, great performance.
I’m 37 year old guy that’s happily married and this song still punched me in the feels. Solid.
I'm a 33 year old man and I can relate.

That’s sweet, thank you!
Outstanding… so genuine….
I've always said Summer is our modern Tammy Wynette. I can't get enough of this gal. Her music takes me way back when and cuts deep!
Lovely voice and music!
Fair honest and beautiful song, love from old Eire xx❤
Go on gal! Love it

I have been listening to Summer over the last year or so. She is a great songwriter!
One of the greats!
nice thank you . nice genuine country sound to it, lyrics awsome
Beautiful. 🥹
Soulful and well delivered!
This is freaking great. Vocally. Lyrically. And the guitar is perfect. Love the three chord switch up with the change in volume.
Summer doesn't miss.
I got goosebumps listening, your voice is exquisite

Tell France hi for us.
Lovely song, oh and I'm single
Wow that is really good. Great songwriting and a great voice. Powerful song
Bless you.
Loved it!!!

Especially interesting in this time of new waves of feminism.
Sitting in the shop with her while she played this was so powerful. It had us floored.
Damn...I'm 44 yr old husband and I couldn't imagine not having someone to lay down at night with. That voice is pure gold
❤ what a talent ❤
Authentic AF, got this on repeat for a while. Hmmm.
perfection ❤
That's some dang solid songwriting there.
Masterfully done
Perfect performance for WAF.
if she needs a hug or a wedding ring, I got her covered
Exactly. How the hell is a woman like this single?!

This is powerful. As a woman, I can relate.
❤️🔥
Sounds cool
Shit, I'm a 45 year old man, and I can relate. Well done.

you are awesome

It reminds me to be generous with others and allow space for us to all feel a little like we aren’t where we imagined. Life’s hard enough.
Wow. Just fucking wow
💘
Sheeeet

This song isnt for me, but damn if its a nail driver for those that it is.
41 is the new 20 something,
shes opry bound soon i bet
She’s a beautiful young lady, hope she finds her mate someday.
I am single I am 29 years old I am long and sad
It's amazing how much garbage makes it on radio. Summer Dean would take radio by storm if given the chance. She is real talent!
what has the world come to when an honest cowgirl has to sing such a sad number?

Get her a cowboy. Now
I'd marry her tom I'm 36 male I know that lonely feeling
Country Roaa.. Nvm🥴
This is just sad ain't it
Wow, sad… Children and family are the linchpins of happiness.
1:26 I have lost count at how many times ive had a meal for one, especially a good chicken fried steak. Being alone doesnt mean youre lonely.
Off topic and it goes without being said, but you gotta get Oliver Anthony on.
❤❤❤
