Your video got me full of nostalgia. Was there between 2005 and 2010 and I have fond memories bruv. I wished your route was the other way round though. There's this view of the high rise buildings such as the ANU, against the backdrop of the mountains when heading from Effiduase towards the CBD, gets me all the time especially at night. Was hoping to catch that but... Nice work bruv...thanks so much.
Koforidua is so beautiful... Green, less dense and good roads. Please, can you shoot same for Kumasi, capturing Danyame, Nhyieso, Ahodwo, Atasemanso, Adiembra, Tuc, paraku estate areas? And also, Adum, Kejetia and Komfo Anokye hospital
Someday, I will. I currently live in Accra. Will have to come live in Kumasi for about 2 months to be able to capture enough of Kumasi. It'll happen someday.
WOW, your best footage and upload of Ghana yet. Thank you for sharing, I know it took a lot of your time to present this. The city is stunningly beautiful from the air.
Thanks, Koforidua is a lovely sprawling town. It's a shame the lovely lanes have no parking facility for other vehicles to stop/park? Not a lot in any case. A very neat town indeed!
I was moving along with the drone on my motorcycle. I had already programmed the flight, so it wasn't using the controller as I rode following it. I showed up in frame, at 08:00 on the motorcycle.
I use the Mavic Air instead and yes, auto pilot is possible. There's an app called Litchi. It supports planning a flight path. Vlog? Sure. Hopefully someday in the future. Currently stuck with backlog of videos to edit for the next few months.
Nope. I don't think Koforidua should be a capital. What should happen is, there should be a high speed train between Accra and koforidua, perhaps 30 minutes train ride. That way, people can easily live elsewhere like koforidua, but still work in Accra. With train, no traffic, no accidents, no time wasting, no delays. So for instance 2 trains. First train trip from Koforidua to Accra, say at 5:30 am. Next 2nd train trip say 6:30 am. During the day both trains can go back and forth. However by 4:30 pm, the first train leaves to Koforidua and beyond. Second train leaves by 6:30 pm. By 7pm, you're in Koforidua. Trust me, even if the price is 500 cedis a month for the in-out train ticket, the train will be boooooooked fully. For a really big 2 bedroom self contained, with even store room, in Koforidua goes for 400 cedis. In Accra, that'll be around 1,500 to 2,000 cedis. Therefore, paying even 500 cedis for train ride will be steal. My point is, we don't need to change any capital. Ghana just needs ease of movement among its various towns. Why is it that in 2020, there's no high speed train from Accra to Kumasi? Safe bus travel is about 3-4 hours. Flight is about 45 minutes, but too expensive. The solution is train, yet nobody wants to fix it.
Again the problem I have with local government authority is the lack of commitment in developing access roads in our beautiful suburbs. The same exists in emerging cities like Sunyani, Takoradi, Tamale, Ho among others. Imagine if these roads were developed, how awesome that would be.
@Mari Jata Says who? At least I can speak for myself and my neighbours that we have been consistent in honouring that obligation since we put up our houses. There was even a time when they came to our various homes to do the collection, yes. Bottom line is that the various assemblies need to device innovative means of ensuring that the majority of property owners are captured.
@Mari Jata And you think its as simple as that; try it and see. You speak as if you have. Perhaps in your case it was but those of us who attempted know the beurocracies that make it nearly impossible to do so. The simple truth is that the demarcation and development of access roads are the responsibilities of the local assemblies since they superintend over the planning and development of same. You talk about asphalt, as I said, try it and see if that will be allowed as a private person/persons in Gh.
@Mari Jata My brother/sister, countries that have developed have development friendly environments that promote investment and foster ease of doing business among others. If impediments in the form of beurocracies or regulations be it deliberate or inadvertent are put in the way of well-meaning citizens or individuals, then I don't think that augers well. I urge you to familiarise yourself with the Local Governance Act 2016 and you will appreciate what I mean when I say the Assemblies are responsible for those aspects of development and we must task them to do so not patronise them otherwise let's push for a review of aspects of that Act.
@Mari Jata Finally you get my drift. That is why I referred you to our ( Ghana's ) Local Governance Act and how it spells out that private/community participation in such developmental agendas. It certainly does not encourage the type of participation by private individuals that you suggest. You live in the US and perhaps theirs is a better system. That's why I urged a possible review of our regulations to pave way for an easier way of all of us participating otherwise let the institution so tasked live up to expectation.Once there are Laws you can't cut corners can you? As I said, come to Ghana and test it.
You almost brought tears to my eyes. I was born and raised in Koforidua and I've been away for 14 years now. Time to come back home. Thanks for sharing this. Great videos. Keep it up.

This is absolutely brilliant, I enjoyed it so much. Easily the best drone footage of Ghana that Ive seen so far because you follow a route and show the map alongside to annotate it. Superb. I stayed some time at the Capital View hotel in Old Estate (turn left at the PenSec junction!) and remember walking to the eastern by-pass and seeing the SSNIT flats. I also saw the tree where I waited for my Tro to take me back to Tenkon junction on the Aburi road (opposite the Shell station by that large church lol) Q. Do you program the drone to follow the route, or is it following you? - I was wondering ... then you pointed yourself on your bike and I laughed. Superb video, take care. Best wishes from the UK
The path the drone takes i.e altitude, speed and direction is already pre-programmed. So the drone is only flying autonomously, and only brought down to replace battery and continue.
@@KhoPhi Ok pre-programmed, understand. Ive heard they can be programmed to follow a moving target which is why I asked. Then I saw you pass beneath and zoom away and thought, Hmmm that drone is stuggling to keep up LOL. These drone shots are fabulous, for content and quality. The annotation you add really really helps too. I even follow along on googlemaps to work out where you are! - these are great, thank you
