Jon Hamm as Gabriel was an inspired addition.
There was a planned sequel before Terry died and, I believe, Gabriel is from that. The Jon Hamm casting is, as you say, inspired.
I don't know how true this is, but supposedly in an interview, Neil said that as he created Gabriel as a very arrogant bastard he couldn't get the image of Jon Hamm from his mind.
Jon did say he's been a fan of the book for years, so I'm sure he wasn't too offended.

Came for the good omens reactions but your opening was hilarious... would totally just watch you sharing things from each other’s religion. As another ex catholic, I just learned about the bell thing and the dreidel thing just now from this.

David Tennant is the most amazing actor. Sorry if I missed this in the other responses but he was the best Doctor from the rebooted Doctor Who, an amazing Kilgrave in Jessica Jones, played what the press calls the best Hamlet of the modern era, the voice of Scrooge in the new Duck Tales and his stints in Harry Potter and Broadchurch etc. etc. The list is never ending but the most amazing thing about him is the fact that he is also considered one of the nicest men in the business. Director Dean Devlin of Independence Day fame (and a real Doctor Who geek) directed him in a movie and said how Tennant could be found between takes helping move props to the next scene! I met him myself twice and he was a gem to my autistic teenager. He is now my son's hero and I couldn't ask for a better one.

You are, of course absolutely right. I can only judge him by Good Omens but even with that little snippet out of his career Michael Sheen seems absolutely awesome. I heard him on Tennants' Podcast and he was awesome to listen to. Just the fact that he spoke about not only giving money to charity, but his time as well. He would 'get his hands dirty', as they say, by being physically present to help in any way he could in his hometown in Wales. He was in a movie (??) just because it was one of his daughters favorite books and she wanted him to do it. The fun part was listening to them bounce off each other.....the bromance is alive and well off the screen as well. I am glad you called me out because Sheen deserves special treatment as well.
@@terris5988 I hate to recommend a BAD movie but Sheen was the absolute best thing about "Passengers". My guess is that you've seen him before and didn't recognize him. He's that good.

@@zvimur Yes, but that's a hard movie for an American to watch at this present moment in history. There's something terrible and familiar about it. Sheen is GREAT though.
You know, me, raised by atheist parents in a catholic country, got pretty all of my Revelations knowledge from this book.
Probably better than getting it from the real book.
I actually tried to read the revelatiobs after reading Good Omens, thought it might be hilarious. I didn't made it very far, probably the most "Wtf!?" thing I ever read. 😂

@@cawareyoudoin7379 I was thinking about the theory that very early religion was the experience of a primitive mushroom cult - WAY too many shrooms long before whatever J wrote Revelation.
However funny that would be, I'm afraid believing in the supernatural doesn't require hallucinogens. It's enough to dream about a dying person a day after their death, or experience a thunderstorm, and we already feel something "must be there". It's quite amazing, how children are subjected to Santa, and other things, and believe their parents unconditionally. Children are, I think, the most beneficial to religion population of humans.
Think Terry described it as , Not making fun of any religion in particular but them as a whole.

I love that you two can still react to stuff like this together and talk and stuff despite having two very different backrounds and beliefs. My muslim classmate once said that 2 people with 2 different religions could never be friends since they would only argue. You guys prove people like that wrong.

ope, I know what this game is, but they called it tops. My favorite babysitter summer, I got to spin it for my first friend. I was a lot younger, so I wasn't allowed to actually play on my own. Thumbs up for nostalgia, thanks. I actually want to watch this show, but I'm watching this reaction first.
