Great commentary on already good live analysis, Ryan! Just what happened to the original upload? Some "Beijing guy" geolocated the footage in the comments there and another one claimed someone on Chinese social media has claimed "responsibility" of his company making this Patriot movie prop. I bet with more efforts someone (ex.g. @SerpentZA) could track him down, but i have enough evidence in the right order to believe this version.
P.S. Kremlimbots, don't bother to pull another one (like in the original) in these comments, this is done.

Well no, you obviously do not or you wouldn't come up with such a mentally challenged idea.
Do you even have a clue how utterly rare trailer-absed MLRS are?
I'm quite wellversed on the subject and i still had to search to find ANY.
The only one i can find is the Jobaria from UAE. And it is basically a truck that has a supergiant oversized absurdly long trailer with 4 launchers mounted one after another and a total of 240 tubes. As a replacement for 6 Grad MLRS to reduce manpower requirements.
And there also isn't any "foreign" SAM systems that looks like Patriot.
Either they're completely different launch packs, or they're NOT mounted on a trailer(again, not normal), because most other makers of SAMs wants them to be NOT taking an hour or two to set up after reaching their location of operation.
"or just a complete mockup built from ground up."
And why would a mockup be made based on the training version of the Patriot launcher?
Why would it do anything that ended up with it being completely unharmed, but still have flat tires?

I think a lot has to do with budget constraints. If this is a movie or military exercise prop, they're going to find the closest garbage truck or similar ready made platform and just make some cosmetic changes - not hand-make a total replica - which would exceed the cost of the original.
Along the lines of your point, beyond the fake (in the context used) photo, I'm bugged by the use of the word "reengineering" instead of "reverse engineering". At least making a proper (knowable) eqpt replica would cost major coin. What's the excuse for using the wrong word?

    • @jebe4563

Keep in mind the vehicle in question was probably not put together for the purpose talked about in the video. It's more likely to be something a Chinese movie company had fabbed for a prop, or as a prop intended to be used for training purposes. Hence things like the 'Inert' markings.

It's not just the Russians out there shoveling the equine excrement so being critical of every smoking gun scandalous factoid floating around out there and doing at least some homework on it's truthfulness then following up on it later to see if new information emerged that perhaps changed it's meaning is the most sensible way to go about things. @sergizhuravskiy4386 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@reload.8056 While nationalists indeed used this statement, the phrase "Slava Ukraine" is not solely tied to nationalists. Nationalists were just among the people who used the statement, similar to how "Viva la France" is not exclusive to French nationalists. I am more than sure that some nationalists used "Viva la France," but the term is not tied to French nationalists alone.
Stepan Bandera is an extremely controversial figure, even among Ukrainians. He and his group fought against the Polish, USSR, and Nazis towards the end of World War II. However, at the beginning of World War II, he and his group cooperated with Fascist Germany in exchange for the possibility of creating an independent Ukraine. It is now believed that there was no official agreement and that most likely they were deceived. The absence of an official agreement was due to the fact that Fascist Germany had an open and official doctrine known as Generalplan Ost.
The Generalplan Ost (English: Master Plan for the East), abbreviated GPO, was Nazi Germany's blueprint for the genocide, extermination, and large-scale ethnic cleansing of Slavs (Ukrainians, Poles, Russians, etc.), Eastern European Jews, and other indigenous peoples of Eastern Europe categorized as "Untermensch" in Nazi ideology. According to this official German plan, there could not be any Ukrainians or an independent Ukraine. Fascist Germany deceived and used collaborators in every country they occupied or fought. For example, you can read about Polish collaborationism during WWII or Russian collaborationism in WWII. As you can understand, according to Plan Ost, Poles and Russians also had to be removed.
However, the Russian government uses a flag that was used by Russian Fascists during WWII. In summary, if I were you, I would not mention this extremely controversial person(Stepan Bendera).

Ryan is 100% correct about how well the military keeps track of weapons and other high-value items. I was a unit-level armorer for years, and not once was a high-value item, weapon, or weapon component I was responsible for lost, or stolen. I did have damaged and broken components, which happened with wear and tear over time, but the item was accounted for every time.
I had a buddy in another company who had a 1LT drop a pair of NVGs while on a training mission. The whole company walked in a line over the training area until they were found. The LT initially blamed a PFC for "losing" them, but the LTC was having none of that BS. The next time we went to the field, the LT had his NVGs attached to him with a lanyard.

You know, the place where the military sold both a HIMARS and a Leopard 2 to the Russian military in 2022.
And that's just that we know of.
And Ukraine was already in 2013 the most corrupt nation on Earth.
Being taken over by a USA puppet government and their pet natsiz only made things MUCH WORSE.
All that money to Ukraine? Expect at least 5-10% of it to go right back to the democratic party in USA.
Amazing how that party went from on the brink of bankruptcy in 2016 so that Hillary had to loan it the campaign money she then used up, and then got paid back with interest, to right now doing just fine, plenty of cash available in the last 2 years, fancy that eh?

Many people just missing the point. Considering the relationship between Russian and the Chinese. If there’s anything Russian captured that the Chinese want a piece of it. They will have it. And could be done in a secret way. People should be worried for the real purpose of it. Because it is too nicely built if it’s just a bomb target. This thing is for AI training. To let all Recon and attack units like drones can study and analyze hi value targets and prioritize them.

@matthewcoster5535 in short, it means remove or reduce corruption in government, specifically in DC and was a Trump 2016 slogan.
Longer version: it was a campaign slogan from Trump's 2016 campaign. DC was built in an area with a lot of swampy ground, and so referring to the political and bureaucratic corruption in DC as The Swamp is kinda a double reference. Draining the Swamp was Trump's slogan for his campaign promise to reduce bureaucratic and political corruption in DC.
I'll leave it as an exercise to the reader as to whether he attempted or made any progress in doing so. I'll also leave it to the reader to decide if any use of it is Trump related, or is simply someone latching on to a catchy slogan for a laudable goal.

Russian information agents rely on you for all the information you provide on how to tell what is fake and what is real. What I cannot get over is how no one is commenting on how poorly it is chained down, multiple problems with how it is chained down. You always need to tie unsprung weight down so it holds the unit, chaining to sprung weight can loose a chain. The tires are close to the bead breaking and the unit could slide around then and then you loose a chain or more, you always chain down the axle with wood or blocks under an axle if you are deflating the tire, you don't want the load to slide sideways on the beads. Obviously sub standard labor chained this down, not a real unit.
