It's funny. I had something similar happen with someone I trusted. The problem was that I had to go alone to there house because my household was.. well.. not so good at the time. Long story short they had locked up my GBA in a safe and I had to call the police to prove I wasn't lying about it being mine. The second they showed up they folded and admitted that I had a lot of balls despite being a kid. Even in nicer areas you need to be careful who you trust. You never know what they are taking notes for.
Really love the respect you have for your parents. It’s really not that common nowadays and you’re totally right about the sacrifice and way they show love. As a dad in my late 20s, I hope my kids don’t make a dumb mistake like this but I want to make the best choice to support them and have their back
Damn, I feel like a theft story like that would’ve ended with your Z3 cart and SP never being seen again. I wonder if ‘Eric’ ever actually had a gameboy or he was just lying.
@@ZachX888 or link cabled with him. Didn't Zero 3 have like a link cable functionality? Or was that only exclusive to swap chips to change the cyber space enemies to viruses?
I've literally been through this situation with a mega man game that fortunately wasn't a zero game but that was still significant. I got a friend to approach the thief on social media but he wasn't horny enough to give access to his social media to do an investigation.
Lost my GBA sp when I was 13, had been walking home from the dollar store playing some RPG(probably Breath of Fire 2), despite only being 7 it was already dark out because of daylight savings. As I was walking I heard a bunch of grown dudes hanging out near the playground arguing about something...I looked up just in time to see guns drawn and popopopopopop..., mustve been like 20 shots going off. Needless to say I shit brix and dashed off through a grassy field dropping my most of my things. Of course when I returned the next morning and went to the exact spot, I couldnt find a trace of my GBA. Worth noting this happened not long after the 08 recession, and I hadn't really realized at the time that my simple low income working class neighborhood had quickly turned into The Hood as multiple businesses shuttered and abandoned houses became trap dens.
While it wasn't theft I made the mistake of loaning my copy of Super Mario RPG to a good friend of mine from high school. We had a bit of a falling out for a while and in that time his younger brother ended up taking it with him off to college. Why I'll never know but either way I thought I'd never see the game again after that. Fast forward a couple of years and I run into my old friend at the local community college and we're reminiscing over lunch. I remind him about the game and he's like "Ya know what my brother is home from college I can check to see if he still has it." And I'm like "YES YES PLEASE FRIGGIN CHECK" The next time I saw him he returned the game to me. Box and all. It had been 5-6 years since I'd last seen it and you can bet your ass it hasn't left my sight since.
I did the same thing with fire red. I loaned it to someone I trusted and then they said they lost it. 2 weeks later they have a new copy and said they" bought a new one"
I like these Mega Man and Chill videos. They're surprisingly deep sometimes and your voice is also nice to listen to. Also, that thumbnail is hilarious.
I feel that parents like yours are getting less common by the days, nowadays those who are too strict or too neglient to their children are seemingly growing in numbers. So I understand you when you say to cherish our parents when they wholeheartedly support us, as when they don't, they can be the biggest obstacle on the path to our future
...I'm more confused at my first ever game stolen... wasn't even a steal. It was literally using my copy with cheats and beating it all the way to final boss then just _leaving_ *looking at pokemon platinum* ...I'm more confused just on who did it, we never found the guy
How to avoid your video games getting stolen? No longer being a lil' kid in the early 2000s. All the cool handheld consoles hit the shelves by the time I had a sense of responsibility for my possessions' safety.
I have a story similar to this. When I was 12 my sonic heroes case and game disappeared. One day I was over my "friends" house and I see a sonic heroes case. I was like, wait, is that my sonic heroes? He said oh no we bought it. I was kind of a dumb kid and didn't realize that was actually my game. How did my game mysteriously disappear and now this kid has the same game? Oh and btw, that kid and his mom weren't good people. Last day of school his mom would normally pick us up and didn't. He was going to move so they decided not to for convenience.
I left that part out for some reason, but yeah, he kinda tried to act like the whole thing didn't happen the next day I saw him at school lmao. I got the game back in the end, so I just let bygones be bygones and we still chatted from time to time.
Nice! I'm glad things worked out between you two. I had a similar situation, except the perp was my first/current best friend. Thank you for sharing your story. I'm a big fan of your Zero & Chill content, and I hope to see more in the future. Rock on!
I fondly remember going to nintendo world with my first paycheck to get a DS (when it first came out) and buying both Advanced Wars and MMZ 3, It was the first MMZ game I ever played! I never had to worry about it being stolen but I did have my pokemon pinball game stolen on my last day of middle school I let someone play it on their gameboy and they said they'd be back. Of course they didn't return and I couldn't find them😭😭
That was a fun story. I had my copy of Mega Man battle Network 6: Cybeast Falzar stolen after it had fallen out of my pocket during recess. The only difference is I never got it back. It initially belonged to my older sister, yet somehow she didn't notice that it was lost. Guess I got lucky. 😨
General rule, if you think someone won't do something because x reason, confirm the reason first. Like if he DID have a gameboy, he'd bring it and show you. That's my take away. Thanks for the story bro, very insightful as always. It's my favorite part of your channel honestly, I'm really glad I got into MMZ just for that reason alone. :D Personally, I'm of the mindset that pulling your punches against someone and letting them walk all over you JUST because "they're weaker" is a terrible thing to live by. Sure they might get hurt, but not doing enough to teach them a lesson at the very least is gonna make them think they can do even worse shit. OR fuck with someone who will REALLY fuck them up, or worse. Just a thought.
Random but as a sonic and mega man enjoyer I'm disappointed that people forgot worlds collide. please talk about it and get other mega man and sonic channels to talk about it. not forcefully ofc but asking them. Worlds collide to ME is the best crossover in history. I mean this genuinely. it is.
Hey there. I just started my mmz3 playthrough And I've already got an S rank on the first mission and the volcano stage and an A rank on the childs stage.

I'm sure you're doing great as a dad already with that mentality!

That boy was lying through his teeth, lmao
Obviously or he wouldn't of stole it. AND he would have showed Magus the Gameboy at somepoint before stealing it.

Holy cow, at the same time you got a GBA SP and MMZ3 I also got a GBA SP and MMZ3, though I also got BN3 for that Christmas
Amazing parents, what a crazy story this video is, maaan I love megaman and chill

Quite a touching story actually. You have amazing parents!
Wow... That's all I got to say for this story... Wow.
This made me laugh pretty hard, great storytelling Magnus.
Before watching I seen this thought, finally got that game back from a friend who borrowed it years ago
