Super Mega Bonus Points for mentioning the GAPS diet! Our poor puppy has been so anxious and aggressive since antibiotics, boosters, and dewormer. When our fera probiotics and postbiotics runs out I’d like to try this woman’s Adored Beasts Apothecary products! ❤
So glad someone is talking about this for animals. I have been feeding my dog my homemade ferments on veggies, yogurt and kefir. I would love to know what is best for him, instead of just guessing per what the vet tells me to give him which is store bought yogurt.
I buy plain organic coconut yogurt and make frozen treats with it, because my dog loves crunching ice and snow. Occasionally, I give him a teaspoon of the coconut yogurt alone, and he loves it. It would be good to know how much is appropriate on a daily basis. Would love to know more about fermented foods for dogs, too. Mine doesn't eat raw veggies... just got him to like apples and frozen water melon. Does your pup eat fermented without disguising it?
Yes. He eats sauerkraut, apple kraut, fermented carrots and fermented garlic. Those are all that I have done. Pretty much what I make for myself here gets some. With the exception of garlic he gets about 1-2 tablespoons every other day. The garlic 1 small clove (1 gram) a week.
Did you have cases where dogs got more allergic reactions from taking probiotics? The reason I asked because after my dog had bouts of Pancreatitis, he was given antibiotics and probiotics. After he recovered, I was told to keep giving him the probiotics but everytime I give him one, he itches more and his skin turns red then he gets more miserable.
Dr Judy, I have Rottweilers with lots of food allergies. So I have been cooking ground turkey because I am lost. What supplements should I put in my dogs food? And do have any suggestions of where I can get bison or venison cheap? ❤
I disagree about " not talking about it ...." I've always brought up the subject. The problem was that no one cared to listen. Now, 50 years later, their catching on, hopefully.

@@thoward8918 hi, aren’t those full of salt though ?
@@Just_Lurking8 aren’t what full of salt?
@@thoward8918 To my knowledge, garlic is in the onion family and is to be avoided when feeding dogs. 🥴
So what are you supposed to be giving? Cat or dog as I have both
Awesome podcast thank you! However the link for The adored beast free ebook is about '10 things to improve your cat's health'.
Thanks for letting us know! The link should work now.

I was recently watching a video from Dr. Woodley, and she said that you shouldn't use probiotics with a yeasty dog. Can you say why that is?
