Excellent; another Nomad upload! :D Firstoff, It's always great seeing the B6 cliffs in a high resolution! To me that was actually one of the most fascinating things that I read on your PSU PV blog - only seeing the few images you took of it was almost like a tease! I wanted MORE, darnit XD As soon as I could they were the very first thing I went and took a look at myself! And they are actually very interesting - when you compare them to the surrounding landscape you can see how they're much shorter than the rest, despite the elevation being correct. I think that both they and the C7 high_res grassy area are at the same elevation (both their top and bottom), which to me implies that the sea-level was once actually higher than it is now. At some point Team Ico vertically stretched out all the Oceanside cliffs and lowered the ocean to where it is now (something which has given me pains about recreating i5 without changing it back!). I also think the C6 plateau may have once been "a thing" (especially since the beta screenshot of the early Save Shrine shows it was different the background), although without more evidence it's sadly impossible to say. And on the topic of the ocean, I do hope that you also cover the Ico Beach as well - I think it's just a collision issue, but there's a section that will fling you far out of bounds if you step on it! It's almost fun to crash the game with ;) But even more interesting than that is the fact that the area to the south of Ico Beach actually had collision to it - I think the beach might not have been finished, as the water lacks all/most of the effects. You can run around on the bottom of the ocean and not even drown! Jeff Mastter (hope he's doing well) actually thinks that the area to the north of the Ico Beach might have been the Worm's lair since he matched the wall texture to the Worm image if I remember right. Not sure how likely that is, but it's interesting anyways! But for sure the double Agro glitch is the coolest thing in this build - I'm still a bit fuzzy on the specifics, but I'm pretty sure that the second Agro is supposed to only be preloaded for cutscenes. Why she appears at Evis' arena with an ICO save file or alternate skin is entirely a mystery! Maybe it's an error with her being loaded before the bridge cutscene? It's a mystery for sure!

You are an absolute legend man. We all know no matter what gets uncovered in this game there is always more . I know you literally dissected the map, but there is just such mystery here, it really seems to go beyond the creators’ intentions. I remember playing this before I had seen any videos about “secrets” within the game. I had uncovered quite a few myself. Each time I got on, I had this feeling like I was in another reality. I had dreams about this game that were completely peaceful and terrifying at the same time. It haunts me, but in a good way. You out of all people know that this isn’t just a game

Hey Nomad. I just want to say thank you for everything you've done for the SotC community. You were the one that inspired me to theorize about the game in the first place. But geez, you are unbelievably determined. Still finding things nearly 11 years later. You are the hero no one needed, but we sure wanted. Thank you Nomad, for everything you've uncovered about this historic game.
The first time I played SotC was december 2005, my uncle bought a PS2 with a Matrix Game and SotC, I played Matrix first and i though, wow what a cool game ,them I started playing SotC... and that moment changed my life forever, all the secrets, the 17°Colossus, The Last big secret, The Dam... so many special things... I hope this chaos we are living in the world right now passes and we all can play the next Ueda game in the future :)
It sounds so cheesy but it makes me so extremely happy that there is someone like you who still finds out stuff about this game, I've been introduced to Sotc when my bigger brother played it years ago when i was a toddler, and eventually i got to play it myself when the remake came out and if i really like a new game, i naturally want to find out more about it and if it has anymore games, i think its been about 2 years ago since i got the game and right now im just replaying it since its an amazing game, ive even got ico like a few months after playing the remake for its HD rerelease on the ps3 along with an HD original sotc just because i realized they were made by the same team and i had an early 2001 psq demo disk with ico on it and i could never get past the first room cause i was too young at the time to really know what to do. Eventually i Played the hell outta ico and loved that game too and ive always had a fascination with game development and game mysteries, so this channel is a gold mine for that stuff on games i love. I also couldn't help but notice your channel's name in the credits of the remaster. Thank you so much man it sounds corny but im a guy who likes to express gratitude. Also i have yet to try out the last guardian its been a few years since that game has been out and i feel like such a fool i havent tried it yet
Not cheesy or corny at all! In fact a lot of younger fans have grown up watching my channel which is something I didn't take into account until a few years ago. The longevity of my channel means someone who was six when I started my channel (in 2009) would be 17 today! So they have a lot of nostalgia associated with the videos - which is really something for me. It's not so rare for a TH-cam channel to last this long, but it is rare when it devotes all its content to just three games. So thanks!
Unrelated to the video, but I just read your most recent blog post (that you made back in 2018). As a long time follower, I was chuffed to find out you’re from Sydney! Another reason to be proud of being Australian :) Keep it up, man!

A few days I finally managed to climb the temple, after beating the game a forth time. I was so happy exploring the hidden garden and running along the bridge till I reached the end.
I once played this game, then stopped playing it and no longer could find the disc. I thought it was a dream until one day it came into my recommendations for it. I'm so happy I could find this game again.
5:33 - What is the "ICO black Agro"? 13:41 - This is a question from Part 1: have you managed to find other colossi parts in a similar maner as Dirge's? 15:15 - Agro's family reunion. 15:50 - What is that... thing, that is before the soldiers and Mono?
Most of the other Colossi have remnant parts left over in the files, yes. Off the top of my head Kirin, Minotaur_B and Evis are the ones that I recall have parts. Some (Avion and a few others) don't have any parts that load in the game. But only Dirge's can really be interacted with in any meaningful manner (at least in regards to using its animations, etc).
It’s wonderful , Can u tell how to get all items in game and what version of game the better ? I am playing on the ps2 and I really want to know more about this game , thank u for your videos !!!

It’s been a long time since playing Sotc, but is the waterfall part of the final release of the game? I keep seeing it in Nomads videos and it doesn’t feel familiar yet it’s such an iconic looking area
Nomad Colossus Hey, just the ones at the very beginning/intro of this video. Ps2 version. They’re probably part just a normal part of the game that I’ve forgotten over the years. Always such a joy watching your videos, though all this time :)
It has been a while since I last saw one with the colossus. But could this allow you to spawn 2 of the same colossus? (two Valus) I mean, the game was not programmed to load 2 Agros, and neither 2 colossus, but it may be possible.
As far as I know it only works with Agro at the bridge cut scene at the final boss - it's not possible anywhere else. So copying a colossus I don't think is possible.
Hey nomad, what would happen if you tried to trigger collossi in different versions of the game, because I’ve never seen anyone fbeat the game in different versions, what do you think?
Thanks Nomad, please, friend, when you were at bluepoint can you tell if they had access to previous Shadow builds, they didn’t have any access to the discarded colossus and arenas, if you can’t speak, can you tell if they’ve shown you things that we will never have access to? Nomad, and as for Fumito Ueda, no chance of a simple online interview, why not create an online petition just to thank him for the gift that shadow is for all fans and if possible as our ambassador to talk to him, I think that it would be valid and it would be like our gift to you after so many years of effort.
No, they didn't have any other builds and in fact, said all they knew about earlier versions came from them reading my blogs etc. And I don't think Ueda would speak to me, as he only does interviews with big gaming magazines and the like.
Nomad, is the PSU preview version the same as the other rare preview version you spoke of? (The one where you can press R2+X on the second controller) I just ordered a demo off EBay. It comes in a cardboard sleeve, and has an early screenshot of Wander and Agro riding next to Valus.
No, that one we call the 'Preview version' - I know it's a bit confusing (Preview vs PSU Preview). Also the Preview version is the full game with all 16 colossi, the PSU Preview only has the first three colossi. The disc you have ordered is the OPM demo, where you can fight only the first colossus.
@@NomadColossus Awesome! Thank you for the reply. We had the holiday 2005 demo. I was looking around out of curiosity and saw that. Figured I may as well add it to what I've got, lol. The OPM demo was the one that still had the animation for Wander's swipe attack used for the Spider, correct?
@@NomadColossus Hi, Nomad! The disc I ordered arrived! I want to point out some interesting things that I have not learned before, but I'm sure you have knowledge on. The demo starts up with the normal intro cutscene (with the exception being that where it usually ends, the camera starts strafing south along the bridge at about eye-level for 6 or so seconds.) with the SotC logo on the bottom left. When I am brought to the main menu, it has 'Stand alone demo' under the title, and there's no actual menu. It just says 'Press START button' It starts me off with Wander waking in the SoW. Since I remember a lot of your findings on the OPM, I tested a few things. Dive into the small pond and crash the game: Check Jumping sideways doesn't drain stamina: Check The word 'arms' about the weapon icon: Check. Barren/blasted area in front of the SoW: Check. I also noticed that I have no option to switch Wander to just his hand. It's either the sword or bow. I recall your findings on the OPM demo mentioning that the bridge from G4 to G3 is intact. Wanted to explore over there for myself to find that it is completely obliterated! I also notice that the game will do a motion blur effect at seemingly random intervals. Even if there's no fast camera movement. (It looks similar to, but weaker than the blur effect when pausing and going to the map.) I don't know if that happened in the OPM demo as well. Also noticed that Avion's was in place of Phaedra, which I believe was also a thing in the OPM demo. (Just found out while writing this that Agro launching physics are insane here! :D lol) Jumping upward while climbing is significantly weaker, making it more efficient to just climb up normally. (Which I believe was changed later, to a stronger jump which they also changed the height of that square pillar alongside it so nobody climbs over it.) The object you have to roll under in the leadup to Valus' lair is missing. Wander also isn't a lumberjack here, lol. Calling for Agro from a distance messes with Wander's running animation, and somehow makes him run slower. (About 2/3 speed or so.) Valus seems normal, but his AI seems a bit wonky compared to the final, as he was walking into the wall for a good while. I also noticed that when I killed him, and he was enveloped in the shadow, I can still see his eyes. I know that a lot of this is probably stuff you already knew about, but I just wanted to tell you things that I found interesting. Especially after seeing that the bridge was destroyed. Not just kinda clipped in the middle like the others, but completely gone. Is this a demo other than OPM? I checked your blog for the PSU demo, and saw that there was an actual menu at the title screen, so I don't think it was that... (Edit: Just noticed that the two ponds on the SoW's balcony are differently shaped. Which I've personally don't recall seeing before if you've documented it.) (Double edit: There is no headless female t-posing model at the secret garden. I also learned that touching the 'water' is a no-no. It gets you stuck in a falling animation until you press the jump button again. I don't recall those happening in the demos, but it sounds familiar.) To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if it's probably just a demo I forgot about, but I wanted to check with you. XD
@@Lq84i-P Thanks! So from what you have listed you appear to have the PSU demo - not the OPM. If it says 'Stand Alone Demo' then it's the PSU demo. The OPM demo says '2005 E3 demo version'. That's why the G4 bridge is missing, there is no headless Mono statue in the garden etc. Note: both demos have Avion before Phaedra and a copy of the Valus statue where Malus should be. But it's still a great demo to explore. You'll need to Agro launch onto the left side wall that leads into the E3 forest to get to the other side though. There's one of those huge rock stoppers blocking the way. Also, ride up close to the rock stopper and you will hear some creepy sound effects!
Nomad I have a Shadow of the Colossus JPN version, where the Colossus have duplicated eyes (Functional, change color and moves), I don't know why. It's only a bug or maybe a different version? (how can I send my stuff to u?)
You probably get asked this a lot for time to time, but what are your PC specs that you use to emulate the games? It seems like you use Cycle Skipping a lot, meaning your PC struggles to emulate at full speed. I recently built a computer and got the game to run mildly slow without any speed hacks. I think if you get minor slow down without any speed hacks, you can probably get the game to at least run closer to 30 FPS with Cycle Skipping set to 1. Also for displaying the game, you should set it to 4:3 and not have it stretched. Unless you're playing the final game where the widescreen function actually gives wider FOV(even then the HUD elements will be stretched), it should be 4:3 to properly display the content. That way shapes like circles and squares will actually look like circles and squares and not ovals and rectangles. This should especially be applied for recording pre-release builds as your videos may be the the only footage out there of it, and having it stretched would misrepresent it on a preservation standpoint. Anyways, just some feedback for getting the best quality out of your videos.
Thanks! Yes I do stretch my videos out to fill an HD sized window as I don't like the black bars on the side. But I get what you mean about the original 4:3 ratio. I use an older version of the PCSX2 emulator that works with my save states. My computer is 7 years old now but it runs the game as 60fps easily. When recording through the PCSX2 emulator it slows down to 20fps or so... But I will be buying a new computer very soon, so this should make my videos run at normal speed ; )
I too used to play the games stretched until I eventually realized how much better they look when the characters aren't horizontally stretched. I used to not like the pillar boxes too when I was a kid, but later on it makes a lot of sense to not stretch because of quality. Now I try to unstretch anything I play as much as possible. You'd probably will get used to the black bars eventually through more common use. You can also render you video as an actual 4:3 video at a resolution like 1440x1080. That way TH-cam will display it properly for iPad users where it'll actually fill up the whole screen without stretching since iPads are 4:3. You can always play the games through a 4:3 native monitor so you won't see the black bars, but chances are you don't have one that could reach resolutions as high as 1080p. You can also try being creative with the empty space, many people who display vertical content that was recorded on phones would have the empty space be the video itself zoomed in with a blur over it. Some people would move the video to the left or right and have the empty space be filled with information, this is commonly used in speedruns for displaying the timer, splits, and sometimes face cam. Generally putting static imagery in the empty space is not recommended as it could risk causing screen burn-ins for OLED displays(this only occurs if the static image remains the same for extended periods of time, usually hours to days on end). BTW, you should also check out this video on how viewing footage of Seinfeld in its intended aspect ratio is becoming a rarity. It also contains informative general information that's really useful for understanding aspect ratios and it's interesing to watch.. th-cam.com/video/PFIrsitJW5M/w-d-xo.html The more people understand about aspect ratios, the better quality we can get out of representing retro content. The video goes on about cropping 4:3 to fit 16:9, which I think personally is worse than stretching as it's literally getting rid of information. Which in some cases for shows it can make visual gags loose their meaning.
There's no way in hell that will stop Nomad from going back to this game.
Go on, Buddy, we are cheering for you!

I appreciate that!
Nomad I'm so happy that you keep exploring and making videos about this game even after all those years, don't stop man, I love your content
Owww you are great nomad!!!
I miss so much the mistery behind the "79 steps to enlightenment".
Damn, you’re a badass for this dedication. Keep it up, dude
Man that double aggro glitch was crazy!
great upload, glad to see you back.
Hey, thanks!
So thanks!
@@NomadColossus You are a legend man!
This is one of the most important channels i think, is realy a great job. Thanks!
Glad you think so!
Unrelated to the video, but I just read your most recent blog post (that you made back in 2018). As a long time follower, I was chuffed to find out you’re from Sydney! Another reason to be proud of being Australian :)
Keep it up, man!
Hey mate! Nice to see another Aussie here xD.
I love taking a better look at cutscene objects! Amazing video as always
Thank you so much for still searching and exploring this wonderful title. It feels like pure nostalgia every time I watch your work.
Thank you for all your hard work Nomad Colossus.
5:14 So there's my Sleipnir!
Very interesting video as always. So many questions...
15 Years have passed and SOTC still have mysteries. I dont think you will ever stop, nomad xD
Maybe it was shown in previous videos, but this is the first time I recall seeing Malus area in clear weather, it's impressive how different and much more ominous it looks during the storm!
nomad, i'm a big fan of you, i've been watching your videos for a long time since i was 11 years old and today i'm 20 and still your videos about the game fascinate me ... my favorite game on the PlayStation 2 is shadow of the colossus and i love. I hope you always bring videos about the game !! I'm brazilian..

Nomad, i love you man. Your videos inspired many, many, many channels around world. ❤
Happy to hear that!
the double horse glitch was freaky, but another great video man.
lembro que há tempos eu assistia o seu canal quando ainda tinha um Playstation 2. tinha muito conteúdo e ainda hoje mostra curiosidades sobre esse jogo, incrível!
I think the points where the goats collide is a part of the points of intersection then there is a sort of mystery at the top left and under side of the map
Nomad Colossus. You might not remember me from the last videos of how I commented on how monkeys lair is in dirge. But I would love to have a series on this channel that involves you inspecting other fan made colossi and art work.It could be the mechanics of the colossus or even your personal fan made colossus. Please read this and comment on what you would think.Thank you 😁
How did all this start? I mean... why did you start looking for secrets or weird things in the game? What motivated you? Why investigate each square and even beyond? Looking for what? What led you to think, "Here's something and I'm going to find out"? Right now I feel an obsession with this game and I've seen every video about this and your work, it's just amazing !
Thank you! I've outlined that in my blog introduction - here: nomads-sotc-blog.blogspot.com/2011/04/welcome-to-nomads-shadow-of-colossus.html
It's all about how I started, what got me interested and more.
Hey, maybe its kinda late, but congrats!!! i didnt notice you were in the Shadow of The Colossus Remake credits!!!!! its the dream of every fan being part of the credits of his favorite game.
Thanks! Yes it was a great honor for me and for the SotC community who have been so dedicated since I started (back in 2009).

When one of the Agros is fused with the other one and only the outline of one is visible it makes it look almost cell-shaded.

Hi Nomad! Love your content! I have been playing shadow of the colossus since I was like seven. I am fourteen now.
I once played this game, then stopped playing it and no longer could find the disc. I thought it was a dream until one day it came into my recommendations for it. I'm so happy I could find this game again.
If u have ps plus it's free for ps4 rt now
5:33 - What is the "ICO black Agro"?
13:41 - This is a question from Part 1: have you managed to find other colossi parts in a similar maner as Dirge's?
15:15 - Agro's family reunion.
15:50 - What is that... thing, that is before the soldiers and Mono?
5:33-Agro with the Ico symbol on its forehead.
@@Geass_Knightmare But where is that from? Is it an unlockable in the final build?
@@Mickael_Mineo Yes. It is only possible to obtain the Ico Agro if you have the Ico save on the memory card. Or at least that's what I know.
Great video!! Psu preview is a great version with a lot of mysteries to explore. I explored some of them and uploaded in my channel.
R u not aware of this channel until now?

Can you show off the Demo of The Sirius Fight in Beyond the Forbidden Lands when the Demo comes out
I wonder if there will be new discoveries secrets on remaster version
There may be actual enjoyment from code-explorers like Nomad or any% speedrunners, while unraveling this empty worlds within the glitching landscapes one can explore in this and all games, like half-rendered houses in ol' CS1.6. The meta-world where emptiness holds this strange beauty.

Hey buddy I love your work! Why don’t you (and some friends or more) try making a mod that allows to play against the deleted colossi?
Nomad I don't know if you did this yet but can you figure out what makes the dornin sword room spawn in because people have glitched inside of the shrine but it's not there and I've heard people have gotten all the coins then glitched inside and the room was still not there
I think praying at the entrance is what makes the room load in

what is Sword of Dormin for?
It’s been a long time since playing Sotc, but is the waterfall part of the final release of the game? I keep seeing it in Nomads videos and it doesn’t feel familiar yet it’s such an iconic looking area
Which waterfall are you referring to exactly? And which version? PS2/3 or PS4? Bluepoint added a couple of waterfalls to the PS4 version.
Nomad Colossus Hey, just the ones at the very beginning/intro of this video. Ps2 version.
They’re probably part just a normal part of the game that I’ve forgotten over the years.
Always such a joy watching your videos, though all this time :)
Nomad Colossus Part One of the PSU preview version secrets you posted last month also has waterfalls in the intro, I’m guessing it’s the same place
I was wondering if you can get the deleted colosso sirius skin
It has been a while since I last saw one with the colossus. But could this allow you to spawn 2 of the same colossus? (two Valus) I mean, the game was not programmed to load 2 Agros, and neither 2 colossus, but it may be possible.
As far as I know it only works with Agro at the bridge cut scene at the final boss - it's not possible anywhere else. So copying a colossus I don't think is possible.
Hey nomad, what would happen if you tried to trigger collossi in different versions of the game, because I’ve never seen anyone fbeat the game in different versions, what do you think?
Not sure what you mean, 'In different versions of the game'? Each version has its own 16 colossi.
Nomad Colossus I’m meaning, since there’s like preview and beta versions of the game, I assumed that not all collossi were present in those versions
This is still goin!!??!
Amazing work
Thank you! Cheers!
I am a fan of ICO & SotC. Do you think it worth for me to buy a PS4 only for The Last Guardian?
Is there any Secrets in the remake or the original game that we haven't discovered yet?
Maybe... I have a few I would like to share, but I promised Bluepoint I would stay silent about these.
2 am dope as shit
@@Lq84i-P Correct! But the PSU demo also has the swiping animation as well - try it out and you will see!
It just says 'Press START button'
It starts me off with Wander waking in the SoW.
Since I remember a lot of your findings on the OPM, I tested a few things.
Dive into the small pond and crash the game: Check
Jumping sideways doesn't drain stamina: Check
The word 'arms' about the weapon icon: Check.
:D lol)
Jumping upward while climbing is significantly weaker, making it more efficient to just climb up normally. (Which I believe was changed later, to a stronger jump which they also changed the height of that square pillar alongside it so nobody climbs over it.)
The object you have to roll under in the leadup to Valus' lair is missing.
Wander also isn't a lumberjack here, lol.
Calling for Agro from a distance messes with Wander's running animation, and somehow makes him run slower. (About 2/3 speed or so.)
Valus seems normal, but his AI seems a bit wonky compared to the final, as he was walking into the wall for a good while.
Which I've personally don't recall seeing before if you've documented it.)
(Double edit: There is no headless female t-posing model at the secret garden. I also learned that touching the 'water' is a no-no. It gets you stuck in a falling animation until you press the jump button again. I don't recall those happening in the demos, but it sounds familiar.)
To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if it's probably just a demo I forgot about, but I wanted to check with you.
Love this

It also contains informative general information that's really useful for understanding aspect ratios and it's interesing to watch.. th-cam.com/video/PFIrsitJW5M/w-d-xo.html
The more people understand about aspect ratios, the better quality we can get out of representing retro content. The video goes on about cropping 4:3 to fit 16:9, which I think personally is worse than stretching as it's literally getting rid of information. Which in some cases for shows it can make visual gags loose their meaning.
Our Boss is back! Go Corona Go!
Is there any version of the game which you do not own?
No, I own every version!
if shadow of the colossus can out as a console edition I’m 💯% buying it and it better come with the other 8 colossus that we’re removed from the game
