I feel very confused by how loadouts with non-proficient weapons, incomplete memoir sets etc. can be good... it feels very unintuitive to me. But I am stuck on lower fate boards and have only hit SSS1 on one subj. element, so clearly my intuition is not working out for me here.
Usually a non proficient main hand is used because the ex weapons (or similar) are just the strongest because of their skill multipliers and the element buff on skill one, this being more important than using a proficient weapon that has weak multipliers etc. The incomplete mem sets are used when you just mix match your pieces that have the best crit rate and damage subs with rate or damage as the main. This is the best way to push your crit rate towards 100 and crit damage past 200. Really need those values to maximize damage! And if you can’t achieve it, wait for the next mem dungeon bonus and go hard. It’s one of the more annoying grinds in the game but really pays off. Another important note about non proficient weapons is that it prevents auto attack chains and saves animation time on weapon skills and characters skills, and often this animation time save is preferred in subjugation (not always but most of the time depending).
