Thank you, this is great! I backed the collector's edition in a moment of FOMO and have been too overwhelmed to really tackle it, but I found this to be a good way to break everything down.
It’s such a good game, and the complete collection box is great. If you are new to everdell, just try the base game your first game or two. And stick to one expansion at a time. Once the box is sorted it’s actually decent for getting the game out and put away quickly. Don’t let it keep you from trying it
Thank you Jason! Love your complete analysis! Excited to try all the new expansions! And I agree if you love Everdell getting the Kickstarter collectors box is the way to go!
I am a deluxification fan, and was very satisfied with the Complete Collection production. I got the cups for the resources and highly recommend them. It felt like they should have came with the giant box, since they fit in there perfectly. I'd rank Bellfaire, Newleaf, Spirecrest, Pearlbrook, Nightweave.
I just ordered the complete collection for my girlfriend for her birthday, and I honestly thought that it came with the resource cups and stands and everything like that. I haven't gotten it yet, but I'm curious now as to what else I might be missing from it?
Since the designer said it was designed to play base game and one expansion at a time, is it easy to pull out the base game and just one expansion out of the big box or is it cumbersome digging through everything in the big box? Wondering if it really saves set up time and storage space.
The big box makes it super easy. Also, for the most part, there isn’t a ton of shuffling into the main deck which is the main thing. Pearlbrook has a bit, Newleaf has more. When I did the playthroughs of all the expansions, I was able to change over expansions pretty easily.
I'm trying to decide which expansion to buy next since they are running such a great sale, and the video before this literally ranked them exactly the other way 😂😂😂 Maybe this means I should buy them all. 😊
That's a good sign! They offer different experiences. I am a solo player to Mistwood was a no-brainer. For anyone who likes pew pew high scores, it's all about Newleaf.
I think the Rugwort solo mode is horrible. It's way to difficult and completely different from the normal game, which I don't like in solo modes... I haven't been able to win against Rugwort once. I prefer the "Everdell Unrigged" solo mode which makes it a lot more manageable (Mistwood is not yet available in Germany). Pearlbrook makes it even more impossible to win against Rugwort. The Mistwood-solo mode looks very promising, will get it most definitively!
I have a feeling that the base game + Bellfaire + Mistwood would be the ideal for solo. P.S. I heard from Mr. Everdell Bell himself that a legacy game will eventually come.
Are all expiation available on switch? because if so I'll buy the whole game there since my table is not big enough for expanding the Base game I got for Christmas. It takes up most of the table already as just the Base game.
@@OneStopCoopShop I figured you'd ask the developers of the game if just the base games on the switch and their planning on putting the expectations on because I think the digital switch game came out around 2020 or early 2021 so I think it's just the base game right now.
Got to honest, my expansion ranking is the complete opposite of yours and the only expansion I actually hate is Mistwood. The new animals and the through the seasons cards are great, but the main part of the expansion is Nightweave, and Rugwart is suuuuch a better solo mode to me. My ranking would be: 1) New Leaf - An absolute must expansion! More ways to get through the deck is always a must in Everdell. 2) Belfaire - Always love asymmetric player powers in games! And have more places to get/trade for pebbles is great. 3) Spirecrest - the big animals are great, and saving for the end Game journey is great! The challenges to the season you are in can be fun as well. 4) Promo, Legendary, and Collector’s edition exclusives. Great and add more fun to the game. 5) Pearlbrook - Adds the pearl resource, some places to send the frog ambasadors, and new goals to go for. However, the monuments replacing some of the events can be fun and different only sometimes. 6) Mistwood. Advertised as a co-op mode and new solo mode, it is the most annoying and fiddly solo mode and doesn’t even work as a semi-co-op. Nightweave just acts as an ai pain in the butt that no one at the table ones to deal with while trying to deal with each other. The new animals and the through the seasons cards are the expansion’s only redeeming factors that keep it from being a complete waste of money for Everdell fans. Great video though. I respect your opinions, even if I don’t personally agree. :)
im with Jason. i find the base game solo mode so bad that Everdell sits on the shelf more than it should. unless the family or friends want to play it Everdell will sit untouched. definitely not a game id choose for solo. i may check into Mistwood and see if that changes anything

That was definitely the intent. Can't imagine getting it all at once and having to sort through it all!

Completely agree about cups! They’re wonderful.

@rbtorelli1994 I feature everything in it here: if it’s not in the video, it’s not in the box.

Was sort of shocked to see the MSRP for the expansions is $60.
How do you feel the variant AI (Atticus) compared to Nightweave?
I don’t know the variant bot. Would be tough to beat this one.
One thing that drives me nuts about Everdell expansions is that everyone ranks them completely differently.
Isn’t that a good thing? Means that they’re all good and people are ranking based on taste (which I readily admit I did).
@@OneStopCoopShop Not really, because just as I decide on which one to get I happen upon a ranking that puts it dead last :P
I would say pick the expansion you’d think would be fun :)
This was great!
In case of mist wood can it be played with more than 1 player?
It sure can! I've seen it played to mix up the two player experience, or even three.

Ahhhh... you're a solo player (realized that when you go to your #1 expansion.) No wonder your expansion rankings are all different from the norm.
Yup!

Good question! I know the app implementation looks really slick, but I don’t own it so i can’t speak to extra content.
