Great prepper pantry! Thanks for sharing. You are very prepared:)) I will admit, I do have pantry “envy” when I see some of these amazing pantries on You Tube. But we all just need to work with what we have time and space for, and keep on prepping:))

Amen on working with what we have! Budget, skills, equipment, and space all relate to each other as we work to tailor them to fit our needs. A million dollar suit, is near worthless if it doesn't decently fit the wearer.

Sounds like the concensus is we love your pantry and we love you! No shame in all that hard work and real living. Nothing wrong with fancy expensive pantry’s either. We all do the best we can. It’s not a contest it’s about feeding, preparing, and taking care of our families because we love them. Head up -shoulders back soldier, you got this!👩‍🌾💙💙💙

If your pantry looks like my pantry I’ll be HAPPY!!! I tire of these fancy pantries. Good for them, but I don’t have the money to fix up mine either, but it’s clean, neat, and I can get to anything I need! That’s all that matters. If ya got expendable money to spend on wood, go for it, build a fancy pantry. I choose to spend my expendable money on food

The important thing is - you are prepared!!! Wonderful. I live in an area with cold winters. So I keep a winter’s worth typically. But have increased to where I keep about a year’s worth now. It’s not all organized but it’s here! Lol
I enjoy the curated shelves all the same. They are pleasing to the eye!
    Thanks for sharing.

You have a wonderful pantry. Anyone would be blessed to have it. I would rather spend money on supplies than building matching shelves. I do need to step up my game. Even though I am single I have family that will need help. I would never turn them away. I need to can and dehydrate more this year. Dehydrated strawberries are a wonderful snack. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing! I have to hid stuff from my husband. I've got paper goods under a bed. Spices and oils in a dresser. Can goods in boxes on shelves. Beans, rice, wheat and bar goodies in buckets. Lots of buckets. He knows I prepare but doesn't know the extent. I've been prepping since the beginning of the pandemic. I think I've done very well. I've also purchased with my stimulus a sun oven, berkey, camp stove and gas, an iron Dutch oven with bags of charcoal and a dehydrator.
I've dehydrated lots of mushrooms to go with the flour for mushroom gravey, lots of corn because there is a shortage on organic corn. I've dehydrated soups and spaghetti. I've done so much more than I ever thought. The only thing I really wished I had now a generator.

You have no need to be embarrassed by your panty long or short term. You also have quite a bit saved up. I need to take iventory of mine but the long term is in my basement and I am handicapped and cannot do the stairs so that part is left up to my dear hubby. I do keep my working pantry which is upstairs straight and also the cabinets over my washer and dryer are straightened with more preps and also a lot of my dehydrated foods. My canning is in the basement where it is dark and cool but hubby decides where to put it since I am not allowed to go there because of stairs and walking. He takes a lot of pictures for me to see though. Enjoy your videos.

I think the Pinterest pantries are probably less than 2% and the rest of us are just organizing the best we can in homes that weren't built for LDS members. I had a Mormon friend years ago before I knew their beliefs on food storage, and wowsers... that chick had some pantries! Her LTS pantry was bigger than my bedroom. And at the time I thought she was a little... excessive... but I stand corrected. Now my friends think I'm excessive, and I don't care! In fact, I needed a kick in the butt to get more home grown produce out of the freezer and in jars on the shelf. Thanks for sharing and helping folks see the potential in their own homes and pantries.

It doesn't need to be pinterest worthy but functional & organized for your needs...don't feel bad for doing what works for you. ❤ So many get caught up in keeping up with the Jones' in this lifestyle & buying things their families won't even eat. It felt good to have my daughter home from college the other day staring at my shelves saying "Nobody does it like you, mommy" with a huge smile on her face. I'm also not a huge fan of stockpiling processed foods so my pantry is more ingredient based.

My food pantry is everywhere. LOL. Some in the basement, some on a bookcase in diningroom because that's where it fit. Some in kitchen cabinet. I try to keep like stuff together so I know where to collect it for meal prep...not pretty but it works

Thank you for the tour. Very nice. I have a small place, so have things in different locations. Some in the back of my laundry room, Hidden in a back corner of my dining room, also in a cupboard in the dining room, cans under my bed, and in the basement. You do what you have to. Your dehydrating potatoes helped me a lot when I did a lot of potatoes. Thank you.

When evaluating prepper pantries, aesthetics is one (unimportant) factor. What is most important is that you have everything you need, and know where it is. I think your pantry is wonderful and don't see any reason for you to be embarrassed.....I'm actually jelly because I have such a small storage space. Thank you for all you do to educate and inform this community.

That is just fantastic with no need to be apologizing for it at all. I am trying very hard not to be envious. We live in a double wide with no space for a pantry. I literally have food stored all over. I finally started making little lists and taking pictures of where I had what. I can't function without access to my Evernote files where I have all that info. I agree so wholeheartedly that each one has to find the way that fits them the best, and not buy stuff you won't use. Thank you for sharing this.

Don't be embarrassed! My supplies are tucked wherever I have space! Other than those items used almost every day which are kept scattered in various kitchen cupboards, my "pantry" is composed of 1) Home canned goods that are kept on short wire shelves that fit under the workbenches in the garage since it is one of the few places that won't freeze. 2) Home dehydrated foods that are kept in jars stacked on a deep shelving unit in the kitchen that also holds my skillets, dutch ovens, and dry convenience mixes. 3) Bulk dry goods (beans, rice, etc) along with commercially freeze dried foods stored in rubbermaid style bins on shelving units in a large outdoor storage shed. 4) Canned goods kept in FIFO racks on a shelving unit tucked at the end of the coat closet with extra oils, honey, & sugar stored on a low shelf at the bottom of same.

I've watched several clips of folks doing the 1-2 months of pantry challenge.. and I've seen some messy pantries!!! It's funny, educational, and shows my imperfect pantry is normal. I feel better about the mistakes.. but I also feel better about my successes. I think what we keep in pantry depends on why we prep. I have some ( not a lot) of pasta and rice stuff.. but I don't prep for SHTF total destruction of our grid and society. I'm not saying it can't happen.. it can.. but I prepare for shorter term issues.. I want 6-9 months of food to be easily used. So.. I like canned meat.. I'm storing that. Always need to get more. I eat low carb so that's also a factor in foods I choose. Seeing your jars I'm motivated to go watch your canning videos and learn how to make those. Looks delicious.

Thank you for sharing your pantry. Must admit I'm a bit envious of your basement space. FWIW... While I have enjoyed seeing the pantries of most of the people you mentioned, I also like to see others, as well. It may be one that's under a bed, or a converted linen closet or a kid's room setup by an empty nester. They all have merit, IMO. We glean ideas from each other. I know I do. Appreciate the different ways people organize their storage. Along with people who say they want to be better organized (that includes me!)
I need to take a look at your dehydrating potatoes video. Currently dehydrating frozen vegetables to go with the meats canned since last fall. Potatoes are definitely on my dehydrating list. Have canned a few taters and have a few purchased flaked ones. But, feel I need more. (And less salt of the store-bought versions.)
    Again, thank you!

Thank you! You have given me several ideas to upgrade my preps and supplies. I will definitely check out your dehydrated potato video! I have a sampler from Harmony House that I love. So, from that I will order larger quantities of my favorites. In MHO I would suggest keeping your "chemical" preps in a different area from your food preps, even if they are in the garage or outside shed. Practice with your rocket stove! Just to get a feel for it. You want to work out any bugs in advance in case you actually have to use it.

Thank you so much for walking us through your pantry. I wish I had this space! I store my jars in old bureaus. Cool, dark, and hidden away! Nice job! I love the labeling too. I think I am addicted to canning. Since learning in July, we have put up over 500 jars of protein, stew starts, and soups! It is me and the dog. He has his own stash, haha (lots of organs, beef, chicken unseasoned). Plenty for the two of us for nearly 2 years. I have a condition and cannot eat much anymore, but wanted to have it. Also, have the "store bought" pantry. Glad to see the wire shelves. Just researching that as a solution for stacking in the cupboards. Need a top layer done safely! Otherwise, wasted space.

Store-bought products are never a problem! I'm not going to be making all my own home cleaners and medical supplies and all that. In fact a lot of store-bought items last longer than if you can them yourself! Always be proud of what you have because you probably have more than your next neighbor does. I don't have a family to protect and feed but I do have myself and my caregiver she has a four year old little boy and I have neighbors that I know on a casual basis.

Truthfully...mine is a huge mess cause I have no more space on shelves so I have boxes of jars everywhere. Hubby keeps telling me hes going to make more shelves but he is pretty busy at work....that wont stop me from canning.

It is good he is still working. It is also good to keep canning. The shelves can come later. Food may not be accessable to buy later. Stay safe. Keep prepping. God bless.

Thank you, you are inspiring! I just have a small flat so I have to find nooks and crannies. For example, I have cans of food under my couch and sideboard! :)

Right now all of my prepping items are in boxes and tubs because we will be moving across country in about 3 months from now. But when we are moved and resettled, I will have a cold room where I can set up a prepper pantry. I hope it will turn out as complete and organized as yours.

You have a great storage room! I have a room that I use the closet and a desk with shelves. For my family, this works. My husband has storage in the basement for fix it items, chemicals such as bleach and propane. Thanks for sharing with us.

Your pantry looks a lot like mine up here at tip of the mit. I guess I'm not surprised how many preppers are up here in MI. We are a hardy lot! I am in the process of reorganizing mine after the hubby built some new sturdy shelving for me, so mine is not that organized right now and has spilled out into the family room. Thank you for sharing!

Look up the indoor Aerogarden. I bought three less expensive types of these from different companies. These are great for greens and herbs indoors even in Alaska and can teach you about hydroponics so you can build a better system yourself. The LED lights don`t use much electricity and you can buy the proper nutrients yourself and blend them to save a lot of money. Lettuce and similar things grow five times faster in these than in dirt and you don`t have to worry about growing seasons. I just planted two of mine yesterday with romaine lettuce and giant radishes. I haven`t decided yet what to grow in my largest one. I got my three from between 60 and 80 dollars each and enough liquid fertilizer to last at least a couple of years for around 20.

Could you please point me towards the specific ones you bought? I have a friend who does this but with a huge expensive one, just not possible.

@@baneverything5580 Thanks so much for the further leads. :) We eat a lot of greens.
I've been trying homemade earth boxes, self wicking, but want to try aquaponics inside for year round growing. I'm not great at gardening, still trying to find something we can do successfully.
[Maybe your comment is caught on a server somewhere, because I still see it at this point, at least here. And I got the answer, too! Ty! ]

@@baneverything5580 ok, took a look. I think you meant one of the countertop models. How many pods? We actually have a small one with just a few (5?) pods. It just doesn't grow nearly enough greens for our needs... If you wanted to go to the next level for quantity in the smallest floor space, can you tell me what direction you'd go?
