I bought a Skyscape Trekker in part from your reviews. Have been very happy with it, even through rainy nights!

Coming to you live... come on get inside that thing for some true reporting. 😂🤣😅
Right on, I just put my tent through the ringer in the same storm in Mt. Baldy. Check it out. One of these days when the dust settles, we'll have to do a backpacking trip. Have a great New Year.

LOL! Oh man...as I was filming I was thinking, "maybe I should be in there"...then the breeze and wind would kick up and I was like "NOPE! Back into the house with me!" As far as the trip, agreed!

    great review, thanks
    question
can you cook in the vestibule with the doors closed?

Hello. Thank you for the kind words. I would probably not. You would maybe want to look into the Lunar Solo. The higher and further termination point of the doors is better suited for cooking. Happy adventuring.

Nice tent man I like that light green color can't wait to see if you get the dark green one. Last February I went and bought an Ozark Trail 1 person tent and took it turn on a TH-camr Meetup that lasted all weekend it went through rain and hail and did really well despite any of the opinion on TH-cam of it I did notice quite a bit of condensation but that's only because the ventilation isn't that great but as far as the tent leaking water that just didn't happen

Very nice. Yeah I've noticed with most dome tents that condensation is a bit of a struggle unless you keep one of the doors open. But that lack of air movement can be a benefit in colder situations as it allows the air to warm up under the canopy because its not constantly being moved around. Sure you get more condensation but you're pretty far away from it all due to the inner. I was worried with the Trekker about ventilation when all closed up. But this sil-polyester material has surprised the heck out of me. Since it doesn't absorb any water like sil-nlyon does, even the slightest wind or breeze will dry it right up or keep condensation to a minimum. So when the Trekker is all closed up even if a slight breeze gets under that canopy it does well with condensation. Take care.

Good stuff! Between you and Huck, there is enough proof in the world that it is a great tent. Love it man. Maybe we plan a San G trip for the spring and you can take it. Up and over again. I need another one of those. Maybe from fish creek to Vivian

I can't wait. I need to get out pretty flippin' badly. So badly that I apparently setup a tent in my yard to test it in a rain storm. LOL! Wow..

Thanks for filming this storm test! I've seriously been considering this tent, primarily for use in the Smokies, which receives a lot of storms like this and generally has a humid climate. Have you ever experienced any "splashback" during heavy rain, coming in through the mesh near the bottom? Is it difficult to get a good pitch so that the bathtub floor comes up high enough? Does it feel warm enough in cooler temps? (just wondering because of all the mesh and it looks like the fly comes up pretty high off the ground).

As long as you get the newest version (Sil Polyester) it should do quite well in the rain. I've never experienced any splash back even in a Sierra thunderstorm however I've seen some of those East Coast Storms and I would imagine that there could be a problem if you pitch the tent to its maximum prominence. As far as warmth...yeah..that's probably my only complaint. The tent is breezy, so your sleep system needs to be on point. Its not the worst thing in the world (air circulation is certainly a benefit) but yeah, your sleep system needs to be on point with this tent. Hope that helps! Take care and happy adventuring!
