as a woman i LOVE male barbies especially the 2009-2012ish era with rooted hair. i still collect them as an adult mainly bc i never got ken dolls as a child only barbies but i think they are amazing!!
I’m a woman, and I also notice a lot don’t like male dolls for whatever reason in their collection. I mainly stick to bratz but I’ve like having the male dolls wish they did more interesting things for the guys. Also release less Cameron and more poc boys
My little brother got his first Ken doll for his 4th birthday. I got my first Ken doll for Easter when I was 12. Since then, I collected both male and female dolls.
It’s the dads. My dad wouldn’t buy male dolls for me and I still see other dads doing it. I saw a random video of a dad letting his daughter pick her first Barbie, but she grabbed a Ken and he said “Not the boy”. Because of the “no boys” rule, guy dolls get pushed aside and companies won’t invest much into them, so they feel boring next to the ladies. I love being able to add guys to my collection. Hopefully we will continue to see more male doll options in the future.
I agree Mattel does not make enough Ken dolls in diverse ethnicities in MTM body diversity either. I as a female doll collector always buy multiple of the Signature looks male dolls, I buy male Fresh Squad dolls & also buy Integrity male Fashion dolls when I can afford them to increase my male doll collection.
I had to search for months to find a male doll to customize. At least there are slightly more of them now, but it doesn't really help when the friend you're modelling the doll after is a guy. Love how you style dolls.
I like dolls in general, the females and the males. Sometimes the boys do end up looking weird in the face or they aren't given interesting clothing, but doll lines like LOL OMG and Integrity Toys do a great job at styling male dolls in an interesting way. Mattel could use some work in the clothing department. There's a number of Chinese collectible figure lines of males dressed in streetwear and more interesting clothes, and I wish we could get that kind of stuff in playline.
I'm a collector who absolutely loves male dolls 😍! I don't know exactly why but I just do 😆 If money & space wasnt an issue I'd have way more boys than I do now & I already have a big collection of them 👍 I can understand why the girls are liked more but the guys are cool too 🤓
he is very diverse now .Why can't he have a mixture of flamboyant and masculine? not just stand, especially this open the doors to the lbgtq community that will like this doll?
