@@xitaris5981 haha thanks, yeah playing while talking with someone was more difficult than I thought and messed up my build a bit too much. Been a good while since I had some proper backseating x)
Fun fact: greatest trade offer and trade ever is the purchase of Alaska in 1867 by USA from Russian Empire for $7.2 million(equivalent to $129 million in 2023). That's Alaska's weekly turnover. And USA has been benefitting from it since then.
Absolutely fantastic video. Big props on the last game. "Stop laughing, you're fighting for your life right now!" Had me rolling. And the "i didn't say to move into tank range"
Ahoy, Captain I really liked this upload, specifically because I liked you talking about nuances and details that help push the 4.9k player closer to 5.9k. I think you have a lot of knowledge from really studying minute details of replays, and hearing distinctions between Rax timings depending on going gas first or Rax first was really cool. You shiver me timbers every day, Cap'n.
This was actually amazing as someone who doesn't play starcraft at all it was great to see all the inputs etc... I hope this will come back again ^^. (Especially when its close to proper game)
I found it really funny when Harstem distracted Gemini by talking about random stuff, then says "X is late" and blames him for that lmao, you should've mentioned that thing before it was late captain
This was great! Awesome job by Gemini keeping up with the instructions. Im a 2.9 k mmr, with avg 80 apm. I couldnt beat a 4k even if a pro tells me exactly what to do.
I was 3.0 my first experience with having a strong player backseat drive, and it seemed to be worth about 300 MMR. Maybe a bit more with practice--the first time, it throws you off your build having this guy yammering at you. 1000 MMR...it's a big ask. I'll say, it was a lot more fun than I thought it would be!
this is a PHANTASTIC concept! its almost like you re playing with your voice and with that express every single thing youd do and what you think about. more of this pls :)
I actually really liked that video. Its been a long while since i was so engaged in SC2 ultiplayer. Gemini is such a nice guy and harstem was so engaged the whole time. Very nice. Loved that video so much. Maybe im gona go play some multiplayer too once in eternity)
Honestly such good content. You can see the gap so well just by your reactions. Interaction was great and your patience is great but also showing impact in critical moments.
Loved this, hopefully there's more like this in the future. Reminds me of the archon tourney where the Captain was the Captain of people from his discord. Would absolutely watch a weekly version of this.
I found this video really helpful. There was some great advice in there, like the spreading of stalkers across the map in first game. It would be cool to see more of these coaching type vids, as I think it brings out nuggets of knowledge we don’t necessarily see in other types of content. If of interest, I’m around 3.5k mmr in diamond.
This is an amazing format and I would love to see more of these! I and a friend play. She is bronze and I am silver and neither of us has ever looked up a build. We just play by feel. I beat her 99% of the time and you coaching her would be a great video. Even if it has nothing to do with us I would love to see you do more of these with people from all levels.
This is super. I hope you do more of it. Just so educational in so many different ways. --For the goal of helping someone score a 1000 MMR upset, though, I'd think your chances would be better with a somewhat weaker player. You want someone with enough technical skills to do what you ask but poor strategic judgment and game sense. I'd say 2.7K MMR trying to beat 3.7K might be your sweet spot.
Great content, thanks for the video, amazing to see the difference in levels, and to know that Gemini would absolutely wipe the floor with so many other players. This game might actually be pretty deep. :)
what this shows imo is a) as spectator, this is an interesting format (2 player teams use 1 computer i.e. not archon mode) and b) there's a ton of room for a player and their partner to develop familiarity with each other's vocabulary, preferences, etc. A good player with a good coach could maybe pull ahead of a better player with a bad one. i'd watch
He did a tournament earlier where a team of viewers played against other streamers coaching their viewers, it was great. Would absolutely watch that weekly.
Every time I see you getting coached, or coaching someone, I have to think of Reynor coaching you; "Who's gonna protect them from the Oracles, God?" Legendary coaching that was.
I thought this was an ad at the top of my TH-cam app cause of the thumbnail 💀 didn’t know it was a new harstem video till it moved down on my new videos list.
This kind of commentary u did really explaining styles, that's was cool, we need more, I srsly liked like 10 vids this year cuz I'm lazy like that sorry xD, it's one of them
honestly a "head coaching" mode in SC2 where you get a literal coach with limited vision (can't see the other person's minerals / supply) could be an interesting format. I'm thinking of a rally driver / copilot scenario & thanks to @jjbasson for sparking this idea :)
I"m a little confused about one thing - the 1:27 vs 1:32 barracks completion timing. does this mean we shouldn't be going inside the terran's main to scout? I usually look at how much gas is already mined to determine gas first - is this wrong? if we aren't supposed to be going in their main, how do you determine double gas?
I loved the balance of flame and encouragement! Would love to see more of this, possibility in lower mmr brackets if you can refrain from pulling your hair out 😂
"Don't shoot all your balls" proceeds to shoot all his balls but always gets like 30-50 army supply to save himself. I think if he would have actually listened he might have lost as he the terran could probably out control and out position him in a slow drawn out fight.
Excellent job Gemini. Could see lots of little positives in the games you lost, last game would have been so easy to throw with disruptor stalker but harstem kept you focused. GG
Hey Harstem, im just liking and comment to raise awareness on your channel, maybe I shouldn't start beef in the comments but it just bothers the hell outa me that winter has nearly double your subs.
ViBElol's channel has B2GM with every race and it got me from G3 -> D3 in 3 months. I highly recommend it. Just learning the principles made it so I can play my off-races at the P1-D3 level.
Play one race, learn one build that can be played against all races, practice until you can hit timings reliably. That will get you to plat. Then practice a tight build for each matchup and that should get you to diamond. Then you will need more specialized skills and knowledge, but in practicing a tight build order, and having less variability in each game because you are doing the same thing, you will already have developed a lot of skills needed for more advanced play
it's kinda disgusting watching terran be down 50 supply or more the entire last game and at basically no points was protoss allowed to take a head on fight
@Gemini19 true. That's kind of my point though. Why is it so high? Your opponent had 200 APM and 1000 more MMR.. I know playing Terran is easy, but it's not _that_ easy.
@Underr4t3d it just seems superfluous. His opponent has 100 MMR on him and only had 200 APM. Yet he's still consistently missing his build order timings by a big enough margin, they're on par with 3200 MMR. So is it just wasted energy too boost his ego and make him feel like a pro? Is it spastic clicking? A tick?
I don't understand this trend. 2 base Terran always goes for units, attack, damage - most games the damage is game winning. 2 base Protoss always goes for 3rd even though he's standing on 2 gate - Robo/Stargate. Like why? Why the Protoss goes for 3rd with absolutely no production? Just asking...
It actually makes no sense to have production and then have to skip a production cycle to get a third when you could just keep up your production cycles and get a third. You're only hurting yourself with your suggestion.
That never made any sense to me either, especially right now most terrans win by timing attack in that time, killing the protoss before they get enough army supply. But on the other hand you can't compete on equal eco with a terran since they have mules, so always more eco.
This has been the greatest trade deal in the history of trade deals, maybe ever.
Great job adapting!
Though I was a little surprised that you're so loosey goosey with your build order 😅
