I said it before, I say it again, 2003 Kobe was the PERFECT Kobe. Had the bag, the body, and this year in particular, the wings around the league is like the point guard of today era. You HAD to come wit it or you done. And Kobe stood above all of em. YALL just don’t know
this comment is for people that actually watched nba games back in the 2000’s: how was the game really like? such as the pacing, the strategy, and whatever else i cant think of right now.
It was slower. Almost all plays would start with a mid or low post entry pass and cut, iso or a high pick and roll. It was more physical and less spacing as primarily teams tried to score inside and most of the threes taken were from the corners from a drive and kick. It was the age of the versatile big men / power forwards (I.e., Duncan, garnett, Jermaine O’Neal, Chris Webber, rasheed Wallace, Dirk) who could score from the post and mid range and for the most part, defend. Scoring was more difficult as well due to the number of great individual defenders, as well as the rules allowing hand checking and zone (the hand checking - and just about any other tactic to slow down perimeter defenders - has all but been eliminated now). I personally liked it better because of the variety of ways teams scored and won games, instead of just jacking up threes and hoping for the best. I also hold statistical achievements from that era in higher regard (like averaging 30) as it was much more difficult to do so - due to the reduced spacing, superior rim protecting big men and rules allowing for tougher defence
Damn, these highlights are rare, sick, ill, filthy, dirty and nasty. 🔥
these highlights be taking me back when i was kid watching these before going school and coming home after school

Perfect combo of skills plus athleticism. Dom Carter has some great vids that highlight the evolution of some of his skills over time.
