Lol...I remember right after Smitty informed Fred that the thief was white, Fred looks over at Swanny and says "Yeah...Some of my best friends are white!" I was rolling.
When Smitty would translate between Fred, Lemont, and Hoppy. Also when Hoppy would try to talk hip but Smitty always had to correct him. That was so funny.
I liked the actor that played Hoppy better than the other actor that played the Caucasian cop. It was also some episodes where Bernie Hamilton would play Smitty. He’s the actor that played Captain Dobey on Starsky and Hutch.
Doesn’t understand a word said. Professional perfect English spoken on those terms is in one ear and out the other. Find someone who knows like Lamont and he can translate it into layman’s terms. Tummy hurts from laughing so much. Love late night America. So hilariously funny. Can hear laughter all around for miles. Yeah, we know.
Nah the one when Fred played like he got robbed and the robbers stole Lamont's porcelain collection especially when they interviewed Fred that was the best cops scene ever on this show

I love how Sanford & Sons does not hide from the racism but yet does not promote any continued hatred. And it is very funny of course.
I love Sanford and son my favorite TV show of all time ❤❤❤❤📺📺📺📺📺📺
I wish this world had more cops like Hoppy.
Hoppy was a funny cop…
Exactly, Smitty and Hoppy always seemed happy during the show.
I grew up watching
s&s. Those days were full of fun and innocence. thank you Redd Foxx a.k.a." Fred Sanford" R.I.P.
That's Ron Glass! Blood on the Badge, what a great novel!
the one with wild parsley will always be my top funniest one, hoppy and swanny had the munchies 😂😂😂😂😂

Swanny was the serious cop Hoppy was the funniest cop
I always disliked Swanny, glad they got rid of him
Exactly same thing what I said 👍👍.
Hal Williams, the best interpreter in history...!! Noam Pitlik & Howard Platt were in hundreds of shows, but at their best in these !
“We had terrible reception in the police car. Kept picking up police calls.” 😂
So funny 🤣🤣. Still one of my favorite shows ❤️🙏💯🇺🇲
This is the weekend that I glue to
If they ever did a play where they did Sanford & Son episodes, I would love to play Hoppy.
"But I see its to late to protect" ROFLMDAO!!!
In my opinion 1:37-3:41 is one of the greatest scenes in TV history.
Sanford and Son was one of the BEST sitcoms everAlways a good laugh guaranteed🤣😂👍🏻ROCK ON!!!!!!!🤘🏻🤙🏻✌🏻
Smitty, Swanny, & Hoppy added to the awesomeness of this show💯 Sanford & Son was epic❣️ Aloha from Hawaii 🌺🌈🌴🤙

Funny stuff when Smitty had to translate Hoppy and Swannies professional English into ebonics.
I would like to see a show based on Hoppy and Smith. Hal Williams was a great straight man.
Why are you speaking of Hal Williams in the past tense? He's not dead.
Thieving Hunky???? Y- TEE!! Y- TEE 😂😂😂😂😂
I love it the way that smitty breaks down the answer!
I like Smitthy and Sawnny my two favorite LAPD’s finest!
Smitty was like the Ebonics partner to both Hoppy and Swanhauser😂😂😂😂.
They got the Munchkins 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Always terrific writing, did it get any Emmy awards?
Back when comedy has a sense of humor…. I miss when all races laughed at each other and ourselves.
Nice compilation!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ My favorite!!!! You the Man Freddy G!!!!
Ain't that Rita Lawson's boy Rollo at 9:30?

I like how he "breaks it down" for Fred. Lmao! So funny!
Should do a poll on who was better Swanny or Hoppy.

Phenomenal!!!
Ron Glass was in a episode
