Ive seen people dig out an area just around the liner, roll it up, tuck the excess liner into the hole, then fill behind/in front to stabilize it. I like the idea of having extra liner in in case its needed
What a lot of people don't know is they want a wall around your pond so silth/ watery sand won't pour into the pond. Some people roll the edges to create that wall, and some tuck stones underneath and around the liner to create that wall. Anyways, just wanted to share ❤

Better to have too much than too little. Just cover it with gravel, rocks, plants.
