Suzanne at 17:00 I think this is probably what happened in Bharat after 1947. The so-called "independence" was marred by violence everywhere, particularly the horrors of the Partition. We had recurring communal riots in certain hotspots like Kanpur but I think Hindus mostly shut down emotionally to just live in peace. Our generation is now feeling the injustice of the biases that crept in during the past 70 years.
