The same thing happened with Sergey Lazarev for Russia in 2016. He blitzed the public vote but the jury gave it to that terrible whiney Jamala song. And Keino in 2019 won the public vote too. The public pay for the voting so they should decide!

His song took the number one spot on Spotify, beating Tattoo and is played in charts all around Europe. Tattoo isn't. Loreen won the Juror's vote with a safe 'technical' song. Kaarija's charisma, energy, performance and personality is infectious! There's a reason so many people come back here, why so many are making cover versions and why we're all watching videos about him SINCE Eurovision. The only other people I've done that for was Sunstroke Project (Moldova's Epic Sax guy;s band) and Alessandra (Norway's entry this year). Trust me, Kaarija is going places after this.

I didn't read what the lyrics mean until now and now I love this song even more. I am a person with social anxiety who in the past has felt the need to drink to drop their inhibitions and actually enjoy their time. It's quite sad when you think about it, but in that moment feeling your fears go away is the best thing in the world. This song perfectly communicates the frustration and following relaxation that are part of this process. Käärijä, you've gained a fan for life!
The lyrical cadence of this song just fits the Finnish language so well, which I always felt had a mild resemblance to Japanese or Korean, and I appreciate that a lot. I could never imagine a song like this working well with English lyrics.

I didn't read what the lyrics mean until now and now I love this song even more. I am a person with social anxiety who in the past has felt the need to drink to drop their inhibitions and actually enjoy their time. It's quite sad when you think about it, but in that moment feeling your fears go away is the best thing in the world. This song perfectly communicates the frustration and following relaxation that are part of this process. Käärijä, you've gained a fan for life!

The lyrical cadence of this song just fits the Finnish language so well, which I always felt had a mild resemblance to Japanese or Korean, and I appreciate that a lot. I could never imagine a song like this working well with English lyrics.
