@stockbee great video. Would be great to have a follow up video on narrow day low volatility consolidation scans on momentum stocks. Thanks for all you do!!!
Thanks for sharing valuable knowledge. Momentum of which period works well as per your experience and backtesting? I have heard that 3months to 12 months momentum works well and persists for the next 3months to 12 months but shorter term momentum such as weekly or monthly momentum is mean reverting.. Is this true? Would be great if you can also throw some light on few setups (mean reversion and continuation/breakouts) which use momentum of different time periods. Thank you once again!
The best video till date IMO ,not to say others are bad I rank this very video very high thanks.I really loved it, I don't get everything as I use TD ameritrade and not telecharts ,I wish we had an angel for TDA aswell for momentum ,as momentum is everything up or down, is it possible for someone to do these for TDA pls I'm a platinum member :) not stone ;)) . All the best thank you pradeep.
@stockbee what about moving avg crossovers? KQ uses 10-20 ma crossovers and this seems like something people use macd for as well Thank you for your lessons it has been very informative
When you use scan for 6 months, 3 months, 1 month momentum, you actually build up a watchlist and wait for a contraction, put alerts when that breaks some levels and enter into the breakout ? In this case, is it not possible to scan for a consolidation zone ? I think these scans give a good understanding of what the market do, what is working currently, but not necessarily an "actionable watchlist". Anyway, many thanks for all your videos and advices.
I scan these lists fr anticipation . I do not go through them all . There are may ways to skin the cat once a trader undrstand momentum. This video is for beginner levels.
Hi Pradeep, Thank you so much for your amazing videos. They are truly a lot of value add. I have one question, when you create these scans using the price today vs price 1 month/3month/ytd ago, is that the same as looking at 1month performance/ 3 month performance/ YTD performance?
Thanks for amazing video. Never used TC2000, wondering if there are free tools like finviz or other can be used for this kind of screening. Interested in generating signals and feeding it to a python program for algo trading.
I have a doubt How to use situational awareness? When to trade breakout? When to trade agressive and vice versa? When to trade reversals or bottom bounce kind of setup? When to trade on selling side? When use bullish or bearish ants? Please explain by looking at market monitor of yours I'm trying to trade your setups like momentum burst and shorts setup
I have a lots of doubts where should i go to clear my doubts and start some basic learning Do you blog contains all this I want to learn momentum burst currently bullish side I don't have TC2000 so I'm little bit struggling to collecting and managing data
Hi EG! How to write scan for a stock that had negative momentum for say 1 year, then recently turned positive and is currently correcting. I mean basically a turn around stock that is consolidating currently. Thank you!
Very nice thought u just said what I was about to say ,also EG which is the best time to enter in a stock reversing from 52 wk low should it be 200% from 52wk low or 100% up from 52wk low as per yr observation.
if you are in Europe you need to change keyboard setting to US for it to work or find workaround . Decimal point does not work same way in Europe due to keyboard settings.
EG, I don't use TC2000, but why you use avgc instead of just close "n days before" for momo? What I understand for that is your are comparing price of close today vs a moving average of "n" periods. I mean why not just compare close of today divided by close 6 months ago. I'm sure you have an answer for this. Thanks
That makes one day very important while looking for momentum calculating from moving average smooths one day extreme move. But if you like to calculate momentum that way you can do it. I know at least 50 ways to do momentum. Each has some advantage.
Hi Pradeep is it possible to do a deep dive on those scans? for example 3 months 12 days consolidation c12/avgc65.12 when I costume date in TC2000. I would like to see what happens after when those scans find potential setups in history. or it is not possible and I have to do just with clasic method deep dive go in history and find those brake outs? thanks a lot !!!
Is there a way to calculate returns in TC2000 where the start date is fixed and end date is current day? For example I'm trying to calculate return since 1st of current month, hence my start date will be last trading day of previous month and end will keep changing until the month ends.
Hi pradeep i just write formula avgc7/avgc65>=1.05 and it says unable to parse number 1.05 at position 18. Im allready have some issues with the formulas, and asking you one time before about 20% move formula and get it work after your answer. Is there some solution how i can write them like you and get them working?, Im from Europe.

Amazing Video Sir.
Is this charting platform necessary to do all this?
Or can we do it in the TOS?

Excellent video
Glad you liked it
Which anchored momentum would you use should a 10%+ crash materialize this year, towards taking bullish trades ?
Anchored to the low of the correction.
Are there any platform in India that can have these scans or have the functionality to perform these scans ?
Thanks
Anybody here use TOS? I need someone who can duplicate his scanners for TOS please.

use two momentum filters. One will be one year momentum . Then use a short term anchored momentum to find turns.
Every Time I use the Custom PCF % True Indicator with the same Formula, i don´t get the result like you...it is frustrating...
if you are in Europe you need to change keyboard setting to US for it to work or find workaround . Decimal point does not work same way in Europe due to keyboard settings.
How’s this different from comparing the close to say 21 MA?
Sir can you direct me to your PCF so I could place it in my TC2000

If you have clearly defined objective for deep dive it helps. These scans are not finding setups, they are just to find momentum stocks.
Got it thank you!
say, you are at complete cash and how to you start to increase your exposure after getting stopped out many times..
If you are geting stopped out often you have a setup and Situtional Awareness problem.
What is the denominator exactly mean?
Avgc256.21 ??
Can we find this similarly in TOs?

I wonder perhaps mr Pradeep has the AFL script to explore those anchored momentum 🤔
C/llv(c,252) > 1.8
Might be a stupid question but what does C stand for in the formula?
Close.

Close price. AvgC63 is average close price of past 63 days (63 days simple moving avg).

For the volume are you using 65 days? If so why 65 and not 50?
I do not use 65 days for volume
How to select best stock if they are from another group and the setup seems to be identical. But you have only limited amount of capital.
I do not use sectors. If you use momentum ranking why do you need sectors.

no unless you change date daily
