What fascinates me about Vampire's Kiss is the blurring of reality and fantasy. Is this a vampire movie or is it about a character who is so insane he thinks he is a vampire? Is Rachel just a fantasy? But then why does it seem so realistic when Rachel is in the club and finds Peter repulsive? The therapist seems real, albeit unorthodox, until the end where she becomes a matchmaker and condones murder. Also, was Nicolas Cage "acting" like an insane character or was he really sick? He actually ate two live cockroaches and ordered an assistant to capture a bat from Central Park.

When it was over and he was the last of his crew living, he tried to make friends with me and my travelling companions, but then a more violent group of humans came along, sat beside him, and listened with interest while he made befriending conversation. When he was done, they jovially slapped him on the back and threw him out of the airlock. I was disappointed, because I like Garyx, but I understood that we were at war, and what was done was both earned and necessary.
